Disturbing news from the front lines, where the Forces of Freedom are currently winning against the Legions of Oppression !
Top Minmatar militia ace, Matar Colonel Avlynka Surionen, better known by her call sign Ava Starfire, has been publicly accused by opposing forces (which of course include the Caldari), of heinous war crimes!
These shocking allegations included: Mistreatment of enemy personnel Destruction of civilian structures Falsifying CONCORD paperwork
We interviewed Col. Surionen, who had this to say: "These allegations are completely false, and I will happily answer to CONCORD, the governing body in this case, for I have nothing to fear, having done nothing wrong"
She went on to state that: " I treat all POWs humanely and attempt to arrange regular trades with entities of the 24th Imperial Crusade for mutual return of such prisoners."
Sources within the Amarr militia would appear to back this view up, claiming that: "Ava is probably one of the more respectable TLF pilots, she doesn't bring a friend to a duel, unlike some people."
Opinions on this issue amongst the civilian populace were mixed: "All Amarrians are guilty of the crime of slavery, or profiting from slavery, or complicity in slavery, if you ask me. They get what they deserved. Yeah, even women and children, because well you know, they'll turn out like monsters, being raised in that environment. More compassionate to kill them right now." said one Brutor musical instrument seller.
"Avlynka ? a criminal ? Pfft. Only crime she ever committed was changing her hair colour. I mean, I have eight thousand lifesized Ava Starfire cuddle dolls, and now they have the wrong hair colour. No, not that kind of doll. They're for cuddling. It's not like that. Hey, are you record-" said a Vherokior toy maker.
"I just want this war to end really. I used to have eleven older brothers. Now I don't have any" said one young Seibestor starship technician.
If any further developments occur, then Gutter Press will bring you the news the Scope doesn't cover ! Rumours, Wars, Rumours of Wars, Wars of Rumours! |

An article with a decent message. I wish Gutter Press would stop getting man-on-the-street style interviews, though. They tend to muddy things.
I have known Ava for a long time now, and both her friends and her enemies can attest to her honour. She fights hard, and she fights fair, and I know that she is concerned with the cause of peace, rather than with the cause of war. |

Most people would claim that the opposite is true, namely that the Amarrian forces of freedom from barbarism are on the back foot against the legions of Shakorite oppressors.
Of course, most people don't appreciate the strategy of sucking an opponent into your territory to stretch his supply lines before cutting him off from his means of retreat and crushing him. Dulce et decorum est pro imperium mori. |

I really can't say this is all that shocking.
False accusations, ludicrous allegations and petulant cries of foul play are common when egos get bruised.
Captain Avlynka Surionen would have had to betray her character and consistent behavior to have engaged in any of these preposterous allegations and I would readily stand in defense of her character and honor without hesitation.
The real crime committed here was that any of these allegations were given enough credence to be broadcast publicly or turned into a "news" report at all. ~Captain Malcolm Khross, Dyishi Aunni of the Wirykomi Honor Guard Eskeitanen Wiyrkomi Kaashivon

Happy to say I have a real one.
To the article, Lies and Slander! Down With This Sort Of Thing!
In a more serious tone, I have never seen Ava fight with anything but honor, or treat prisoners unfairly. It seems most likely to me that this is the last attempt of a losing force to discredit their enemies. |

Confirming this is indeed a missing piece of important information.
And agreeing wholeheartedly with Kala here: it's rather telling how bad the pilots of the 24IC feel their outlook is when they're willing to resort to petty methods like this. |

I'm sure they could have found someone in the TLF who actually was engaging in those acts if they had looked a little harder.
But Ava? Ava Starfire? My god, the first thing she did when she struck out on her own from Gradiant was to commission a series of farms because she was concerned her people were spending too much on battleships and not enough on infrastructure. These are not the acts of a woman who would do whatever it is these particular elements of the Amarr Militia are accusing her of. |

It's no longer down to me to pull it off.
As I said in our redeployment announcement, I have complete confidence that those still in the 24th IC have the ability to crush the Shakorites.

Well, consider that Muck Raker's story says 'CONCORD is investigating Ava Starfire, probably as some Caldari Plot', it goes out of its way to say that Ava's character shouldn't be in question.
I disagree. I want people to very closely scrutinize her character.

Far be it from me to agree with a Nation sympathiser on how people should behave, but this.
Ava works hard to set an example that more of us should be trying to follow. That anyone would try to accuse her of something like this is highly insulting to her and those who would call her - and those she would call - a friend. |

We're not abandoning the Empire. We're refocusing our efforts towards other threats that we have neglected for too long.
So if you have an itch, it must be something else that's causing it. I can send you some de-lousing powder if you like. It might be worth a try*.
