If away from the computer for several days, is it possible to schedule skill training in advance or remotely?
Thanks, Solyent

You cannot change skills remotely. The skill queue only allows you to change them in advance during the next 24 hours.
However, if you plan ahead, it is not hard to come up with a skill that will last for the entire time that you are away. This might be a good time to train Cruiser V or something like that.

You can't change your skills unless you are logged into EVE.
However you can very easily work around this.
Say you have to be gone for 5 days. A good option would be to set yourself up with Gunner IV, and then put Gunnery V in the skill que while you are away. It will keep training the whole time your gone.
Away for 2 weeks? Time to learn Cruiser V or Production Efficiency V ect.
Away for 6 months? Get more internet, or train Titan V.

I wouldn't even go that far; if you're outside the double-training-speed zone, taking a rank 1 skill from level 4 to 5 will take about 5 days give our take, with moderate learning skills/implants. And there's a lot of useful, rank 1 skills that will benefit greatly from being taken to level 5 - Engineering, Electronics, Energy Systems Operation and Drones for sure, and many others depending on your specific field/direction.
If you're going away for longer, or you're still at double training speed, then a whole bunch of rank 2 skills are really useful at level 5 too, including racial Frigate, Combat Drone Operation, gunnery/missile support skills, Hull Upgrades, etc.
You shouldn't have trouble finding something really useful to train for a few days, without needing to resort to spending 20-25 days training Cruiser V unless you really want to.

Thanks to all that have responded. I see what to do.
This is my 3rd day, and it is slowly beginning to make sense. So far just working my way through the agents.
Thanks again for your help!

In your first few weeks your doing a ton of short skills, in a while you will find they can go on for days.
