in ships & modules and general discussion this thread was posted about one posting his ui. since i'm very tired my common senses failed me, someone mentioned it could be a keylogger
now these threads are locked and i can't respond in them anymore, so i ask here:
IF those were keylogging links, how do i remove them
informations: those were .jpg but i think the adress bar somehow showed wrong information because it was clearly not a picture what was beeing displayed
i currently run the latest firefox version with adblock and noscript activated, am i even in danger ?
seriously i don't want to risk my account and / or possible accounts for other games because i'm too stubborn to ask for help, so i don't want to be quiet about this
yes yes it WAS dumb, but i really would appreciate any help
thanks

Get yourself some malware virus spybot and keylogger remover and run them all. Should clear up anything that might cause you problems.

Hard to say sometimes. but the idea first is run all the spyware and other stuff you can first. then when you sure you are safe. change your passwords.
I should say also if you have AVG dont trust it to protect you from everything its like a screen door. --------------------------

i did not type a single piece of important information, since i stupidly clicked those links, ie. nothing that i'd feel sorry about if somebody else would know them. currently running full disk checks on spybot s&d and avira antivir. after those are finished, would i be safe to change passwords ? also, do i need to change every password i use ? windows password, icq, other games, whatever ? or are those phishing attempts usually optimized for the game in which forums they are beeing posted ?

In my 10+ years of gaming more of those are just focused on the gaming passwords rather than other stuff. sometimes its just to run in steal all your stuff and then give it to their chars to sell or what not.
Safe bet is to change your gaming passwords at least. --------------------------

Edited by: LUH 3472 on 22/07/2009 23:45:35 you can download the "security task manager" from neuber.com and check what processe are running, how dangerous etc
edit: so basicly you run the program and then if you find some process suspicious google about the**** or dll to get some info wether it is genuine as it appears
ps: anyone knows a customable free firewall thats good?

Program Stuff found Spybot - 0 Ad-aware - 10 malbyte - 5- still scanning avg virus - 2 - still scanning
I had to install a new ad-aware since my old one wont update, but check this post for any changes.

I'm just giving up clicking links. Ever. I will just live on my bookmarks list.
Another good anti spyware program is SuperAntiSpyware, if the other ones recommended dont clear everything.

although faceplants would be much more funnies to watch.
i guess you should trust links only giving out by regular eve online forums personell. i shall act responsibly during this time of my linking to insure that you can trust me through this time of crysis.
this is a serious matter here and it is spreading through this forum as smith spread through the matrix
we need more forum staff to handle these links in a quick appropirate fashion. you are ment to protect us

one last question, do these keyloggers even get detected on virus scanners ? i want to play now but there is no point in changing your password ( even from a remote pc ) if you still got the logger on your gaming pc
