I don't really understand what the obsession with consoles is, EVE is quite clearly a PC game and in order to play it on a console you'd still need a mouse and keyboard, making the effort futile. |

Why would you ever want to play it on a console to begin with? |

You can play Eve on the PS3. Have Linux installed on it, and you still need a mouse and keyboard. Just ignore the .4 FPS though since it cant fully access the graphics hardware on the PS3 |

hahahahahahahahhaha.
Console games (mostly) are for simpletons, even if you could somehow through some arcane magic figure out a working control scheme (waggle wiimote to mine asteroid) it would still have pretty much no market because it's several orders of magnitude above the heads of the unwashed console gamers. |

Console games are extremely user friendly. EVE Online will never be on a console because of the control scheme. Can you imagine plating this with all the Halo 3 kiddies?
That being said Gamer4liff is an idiot. |

Technically its possible as both the ps3 and xbox line are simply un-upgradable desktop computers. Add a mouse and keyboard and with a ported client and it should run just as good as on a pc. Not sure if I would want the console crowd to have access to eve though even moar clueless targets would be nice I guess. |

You can hook computers up to most modern TV's easily, most support either S-Video, DVI or VGA.
I use S-Video for mine, even though in my TV manual it strictly says "Do Not Connect a Computer to this TV." ****. That. |

Most graphics cards come with DVI nowadays so you can connect them straight to HD-ready TVs (with a DVI-HDMI cable) for basically perfect quality

No no no no no
Would you like having to buy a brand new console every time you wanted to keep playing EVE and the next release was set for that console? No.
Also, who would want a RROD while playing EVE? ------------------- Always remember this about EVE:

I'd like to see a console game set in the eve universe. Maybe an RPG like Oblivion or Vampire: Bloodlines... wait... those were both PC games... maybe ummm... Super Mario Bros: Stuck in Jita!

Oblivion was on the 360 and PS3, and in fact translated very well to consoles. Same with Fallout 3. The only problem is you can't put mods on console

Edited by: Benco97 on 25/07/2009 14:29:22 In general the Console audience and the Microcomputer audience have different tastes in games and playstyles, a console gamer may tend more towards "Pick up and play" games with simpler mechanics roughly translating to "hit target for points" while a Microcomputer gamer may tend more towards games which take a certain amount of personal investment and teamwork (And no, team deathmatch isn't teamwork)
Note however that I am not saying one style is better than the other, these are games we're talking about here, they are designed to be fun and if you get fun from a console game as opposed to a PC game then that doesn't make you any better or worse than a PC gamer.
Originally by: May Burke people that try to play music down there mic's pc and console gamers dont mix
You should come on my corp's vent sometime, you'll soon believe otherwise about the music part.
