Yes i just saw the jet in the video go white hot.......
Actually I don't think that will be a problem anymore, I have refined my design and decided that the engine will not be parallel with the frame but actually mounted in series with it, a small distance behind the rear wheel.

This is a good example of a large home-made pulsejet

Oh god. I thought you were being silly before, but attaching something like that to a bike is utterly insane.

Originally by: Benco97 I'm obviously going to have to offset the pulsejet from the frame by some distance in order to avoid melting my wheels (And my leg)
This should not be a problem. Recast the wheels out of titanium and get a body suit made of the same. Alternatively, replace your legs with cyborg parts. Originally by: Benco97 but that isn't really going to help with the noise.. So far my only idea with regards to that has been "Don't use the engine ANYWHERE NEAR houses and wear earplugs at all times". What do you think?
This is very simple. You just need to travel greater than Mach 1 and you will not hear anything, as you'll be travelling faster than the sound you're making. However windows in your local area may not withstand the sonic boom. Originally by: Benco97 I'm also going to have to upgrade the brakes on my old bike, if anyone has any suggestions in that area I would be MOST welcoming of them

UPDATE TIME!
Hello!
Unfortunately I have put this build on hold for the foreseeable future as.. well.. you know my bike? Today it sort of broke quite bad and...I may have lost my bottle a little
Basically, I was on my way to the chemist to get some films developed and about 7 miles away from town there was this horrendous noise like a scream and the clutch casing blew off the side of the bike (Narrowly avoiding my shin).
Fortunately I am ok as the floor broke my fall but I am going to have a little while off before seeing about fixing it and i'm perhaps taking it as a little sign that I shouldn't make anything MORE DANGEROUS just now.
Sorry
