There is nothing wrong with this under some circumstances, WTs have teamed up against 3rd parties since FW began.

It's a blue op with WTs. The rest of Minmatar can thank Rifterlings when Fweddit decides to curbstomp you guys into obvlilion should they ever become good.
But seriously, it just seems wrong to go help your enemy to become better. Rifterlings is better off spending it's time helping their own allies become better. |

There's nothing wrong with seeking a challenge by either seeking out a difficult opponent, fight against the odds, or even work in conjunction with the enemy from time to time so that both may prosper ... and eventually bring a better fight for both sides.

First of all, we Minmatar are not in danger of getting curbstomped by Fweddit for many, many moons.
Second of all, joint ops between Amarr and Minmatar have always taken place. I've teamed up and merged fleets with Predator Elite, Eran Mintor and all those other old-hat Amarr USTZ FCs when there is something mutually beneficial that could result. I'm friends with a hell of a lot of people in Amarr militia or who are now ex-Amarr. We sometimes even invite Shalee to comms when there is nothing happening just to shoot the ****, lol.
The only problem that would arise from joint ops is when you are prioritizing your WTs over your own Militia or blues, but to each their own. Sa souvraya niende misain ye. |

There is nothing at all wrong with fleeting up with the other side in FW and going to go kill pirates or do some null sec roams. Caldari & Galentte have done it many times in the past.. (not so much lately).
The problem IMO, comes when groups like WBR & SoTF fleet up and interfere with normal functions with-in FW it's self. If they have a respect for what FW is they should keep their joint fleets away from things that interfere with normal FW fighting.
No one really cares that they like to fly together other than maybe some RPers. What people have problems with is they interfered with fighting that was going on between Amarr & Minmatar. That was a bad call on SoTF & WBR part and they cheapen FW for doing it.
You don't have to be a role player to at least have a little respect for the basic principles of the intended game mechanics. There is a difference between playing in a sand box & trying to game the game just because you can. |

There is no intended game mechanics, that's just a fancy expression for "how I'd like game mechanics to be" . There is just game mechanics. Following your train of thought (well, trainwreck of thought since it colided with reality the second you hit "post"), ninjas are ruining the intended game mechanic of missioning, gankers and wardecs are ruining the intended game mechanic of peaceful mining, etc.
Is it cheapening FW ? Maybe (allthough I'd still argue it enriches it in content) , but cheapening something is not against the rules or spirit of a game that's based at least as much on destroying (assets, systems, concepts) as on building.

AHAHAHAHAHAHA Confirming hard that FW people cry about everything. Learn to read and see that it was a proposed fleeting into null (please shoot CVA, please shoot CVA) so it doesn't stomp on your precious roleplay toes.
I for one like fleeting up with people I then go back to shooting afterwards- it's always good fun. |

Heya. I am one of the RLING directors wanting to organize this, and I hope I can offer some clarifications.
This is for a greater cause than our petty squabbles over lowsec territory. This is about getting newbies to have a good experience and have a joint learning experience. This fleet is open to all those in militia who want to get a nice swarmy 0.0 experience.
We are not allying ourselves with Fweddit or the Amarr militia. Blue standings will not be set, and outside of the fleet we are still free fire on each other.
We are simply planning on having some fun shooting someone else for a night: CVA!
Hope this clarifies things. Rifterlings - Small gang lowsec combat corp specializing in frigates and cruisers (all races, not just Rifters!). US Timezone veterans and newbies alike are welcome to join. Come chat in the "we fly rifters" in-game channel. Free fitted frigates for members! |

But seriously, it just seems wrong to go help your enemy to become better. Rifterlings is better off spending it's time helping their own allies become better. Rifterlings is dedicated to promoting new player experience and frigate dominance regardless of corp or affiliation. This op is proposed in the interest of getting Fweddit newbies a taste of competent PvP. If Fweddit later does not live up to the expectations set by the op, they might even switch sides.

Confirming Kahega is a spy.
Confirming that Rifterlings want to change the scale of all FW one frigate at a time.
But seriously, this isn't a big deal. If we want to play with our enemies in an area outside of our normal theater of operations who cares? I for one welcome better local smack after getting to know some of the folks on the other side.

Confirming that we're all spies. In fact, my main is in GoonWaffe. Just ask masternerdguy, he'll tell you all about it. My task is to steal Rifterlings for my dark overlord, the Mitanni.
Seriously though this sounds like a cool idea. I actually like Fweddit. Unlike some of the other corps in the Amarr militia, Fweddit will actually fight above their weight class, and as someone who exclusively flies frigates I can respect that. Fweddit also does not take anything personally and get butthurt over the game like some of those "old guarde" Amarr corps do.
I can definitely see myself getting behind Fweddit. Just because they're Amarr milita doesn't mean I have to hate them personally. They teach newbies about the game, and any corp that does that is gold in my eyes.
Here's to more good fights!
+1
EDIT: Also, anyone who enjoys picking on CVA is a good person in my book. CVA is a terrible scourge on the Universe and needs to be purged. Rabble Rabble!! |
