Edited by: Michwich on 03/08/2009 22:37:05 Shouldnt dealing with Concord in high sec be the same as dealing with pirates in low sec. Unpredictable and PLAYER CONTROLED with no brain dead AI. That means Concord is player controlled.
Well maybe there could be 'some' brain dead AI in the form of Concord NPC's to go along with the real player controled Concord ships but they would be underpowered and not the first line of defense, sorta kinda like the the pirate NPC's in low sec. Point being they arent the biggest threat in their respective systems, the PLAYERS are.
It should be assumed that carebears arent expected to fight, they are citizens afterall thats why they pay taxes and pay into a system that should protect them. Concord the way it is, is not enough, the only way it will be accepted is if its player driven and only then can the fight between good and evil begin.
Or no?

Edited by: Khemul Zula on 03/08/2009 22:52:39 Pretty sure this idea is taking Common Sense and turning it upside down until all the change in its pockets falls out, then stealing from it.
I approve.
Also I believe it may have mugged Logic and left it bleeding to death in a dark alley somewhere.

If trying to discern the morality of ISD applicants is hard, I LOATHE to think of how hard it's going to be to find a player-Concord applicant of high moral standing...

Oh please, as if you can trust human beings with power. History is one big showcase of how we always abuse the **** out of power and each other. Now picture that in an environment where all moral restrictions do not apply as it is a virtual environment.
As much as I enjoy griefing people and having fun with people, EVE would break down to 1k players online records pretty quickly

Perhaps not a player controlled Concord, but players bein allowed to join Concord? Giving control of that kind to players would be baaaaad, but I always wanted to be a policeman. All those donuts.
My sig was fail, but now it isn't.

I agree. Players should be allowed to join concord, customs, etc. It will help us to ensure pilots pay for their mistakes. I would be happy to assist with recruiting pira^H^H^H^H security personnel to join these law enforcement agencies. We can then begin shoot...err...informing industrial, transports, and mining barges who are carrying cargo that is over their rated isk/ship HP rating.

terrible Idea, although im neutral on the subject of small gangs attempting to attain order in 0.0 space. So far these attempts have succeeded for a brief time yet are usually abandoned because of the manotiny.

Concord is already player controlled. Have one of your ratting alts shoot a can at an asteroid belt in a noob ship and enjoy the personal bodyguard. Same with setting up a route for a high value haul. Scout out the likely places a gank will happen and have the alt summon your concord bodyguard at each high risk gate. As far as I know its not an exploit and the negligable sec hits for aggro can be ratted off in less than an hour.

I say test it in a small new constellation. Player controlled Concord would of course not be physically able to target non-criminal players. A mechanism like POS gunnery should be in place, where the player "assumes control" of a concord ship. And if there are not enough players to control Concord in a specific system, the game should spawn the regular wtfpwnomfglolbbq concord.
