The Goons are like a charging bull, you don't stand infront of it and wonder why you got hit. No, you don't wear red and stay out of it's way. Same thing.

I know I know, you need a reason to whine because you seek attention that mummy used to give you. To whom are you referring the above to, or did you post in the wrong thread? Is it more wrong with a goonageddon than a hulkageddon? Help me out here. I am losing hope in humanity as it is already. You don't need to make it worse. |

Through cultural, Western morality, we have been taught that humanity has never bred evil so great as H!tler; before H!tler it was the devil, but since I'm not insane, i.e. religious, I prefer to use H!tler rather than Lucifer. I'd use Stalin, but communism doesn't have the same effect. By the way, your post about this being "a record" falls flat considering that it just isn't mentioned in other threads. I use extreme examples because I just don't give a **** if a few goons feel all sensitive with tears and whatnot, but since most people do, they don't bring forth H!tler.

I am all for any randomness reasonless killing in eve :) carebears whining about other people playing their own game however, gets my goat up. Please, make a MiillaGeddon :) Make my day :)
Better idea is just go out there and do it, less TALKING ABOUT IT frankly because all that is is ATTENTION SEEKING, just do it, don't talk it. I frankly don't care what you do in your game, and I expect you to do the same regards MY game.
Posting threads like this on forums is for one reason and one reason alone, seeking attention and approval. I know because that is why I do it. |

I might be a "casual" game player who doesn't "get it" but to me if you can't find something better IRL to spend that kinda money on then donate it to charity. |

Same way as Terrorists beat America :) Did H!tler (I cannot believe they censored H!tler) win when people started disagreeing with him, too? The resentment against the goons is human nature and is based in an underlying hatred for the exclusive. The problem is, though, that nothing and no-one has been able to hold on to power forever - and I doubt the goons will prove the exception.
Just think of these folks as really bored lap dogs yapping away, signifying nothing. Have you heard Miilla's 'banter' on Rens Local ? Charming......not. Ohh poor silly goon chillrens. Yup. This is why, although a great idea, the OP's idea won't fly.
Besides, it's ultimately just a game, and taken WAY WAY too seriously tbh. Really.

You know ****'s gone bad when you have to move people out of the country - but still in the country - to avoid screwing over your own constitution.
If you're referring to metal detectors, x-ray, visual and personal background security checks being conducted at various sensitive internal institutions, that's the Government providing "High Security" for it's citizens which I fully endorse, even if it is an inconvenience.
Now when referring to this game, 'High Security' is a joke and as such, I salute the op and his proposal. Hopefully it'll be a huge success, garner lot's of publicity and maybe even become another 'Player Created Event' that happens each year targeting another member of the CFC and OTEC entity's in this game.
Seems there's a double standard showing up in this thread. It's OK for the CFC to sponsor 'Hulkageddon' and 'Burn Jita' and send out 'Death Squads' to grief players but when someone wants to sponsor a 'Goonageddon', all of a sudden it's wrong and somehow goes against acceptable game play or it's players taking this game way too serious, etc. Seems like the song they sing get's changed rather quickly whenever the shoe is on the other foot.
Course then again this thread could just be a gigantic troll. Whatever the case may be, I'd still like an answer from Miilla - just exactly how did Terrorists beat America? |

The way to defeat Goons has nothing to do with wars and ganking, they want to fight, they would love for you to fight them, thats what PVP is about. And thats the disconnect that so much of the highsec crowd misses.
I'm not in favor of their tactic, don't mistake this for support - But what I'm saying is that combat is part of the intent. So suggesting to fight them is exactly what they are looking for. They want highsec miners to either get pissed off an leave, or become PVP players, because ultimately, EVE is a PVP game.
So really, if you want to directly counter Hulkageddon, and other actions like it, what you'd have to do is bore them off the game by bringing endless hours of staring at a rock to them. Then they'd move on to some other game.
But, since you can't really Destroyer-a-geddon them by running your Hulks out to their home systems, it looks like instead you'll just need to train to shoot of freakin gun. Train to mine smart, and play the game in teams as its intended. Eve isn't really about solo play its about getting in a corp, learning to work with the conditions you have and making your way.
Idle money making, while it might be the play style for a lot of players, is not what Eve is about. Eve is about struggling to survive. There are already lots of games where you can sit around and do nothing and be rich. The world doesn't need another, and even if it does need another, I'd rather that it not be Eve. Get a gun.

Yes, because Benjamin Franklin had the foresight (well maybe, he did invent the bifocal) to see that nearly 250 years later the human race would have the technological and biological means to cause mass-devastation with minimal effort. Calculate every life lost - from the lives lost from the resulting terrorist attacks, to the resulting wars, and the civilian deaths in Iraq and Afghanistan. Now try to imagine every person who has ever lost a friend or a loved one because of it. Trillions of dollars spent and millions of lives ultimately changed forever at the cost of "liberty" when the reality is a few pat-downs and a couple wiretaps could have prevented what will probably be defining series of moments of our generation.
I'm as liberal as they come, but you have to imagine if the founding fathers knew what we know now they would have phrased a few things differently. |

I'm of course open to your arguments, however much I resent people who say, "I'm clean, it's okay if they watch everything I do on the Internet". Yes, it's another discussion, but you probably know how it works: first they use a war - "either you're with us - or against us" - to establish laws which makes you feel safe, but they say you're not quite safe yet; it's a very dangerous world, so they give the already established law more rights; rights which you'd have look upon with suspicion had the law not come in a small shape first. We have seen this very recently in Sweden, and since people generally are extremely stupid, they tend to forget things or accept them in increments (which is something both American and Swedish politicians use; Americans through patriotism and Sweden through a "I have nothing to hide"-attitude - but the result is the same).
From North America to Europe to Asia; we are at risk of losing basic freedoms ranging from freedom of expression to the government being able to track you through your phone - and it all starts with a war, so you can feel safe. |
