Will the Black Prophecy be a threat to EVE because it has station walk future in it and it's a German game ?

Been watching the trailer. Instanced missions, twitch control, first person view. It's nothing like EVE really. It'll only attract hopeless carebears and those aren't really a targeted customer base for EVE anyways. -------- Ideas for: Mining

Might attrackt some players (wow-tard-sci-fi counterstrike-carebears, that is).
We didn't want those, anyways.

Looks OK, but not interesting, very bland ship designs IMO.
I'd be interested if it took a more realistic take on zero-g physics and stuff.

Quote: Will it be possible to exit your ship and walk around on space stations or planets? This feature will not be part of the release version but is not necessarily ruled out for any further expansions of Black Prophecy.
Thats from the FAQ, so dont see where you got that it has WiS?

I have to say I'm liking the higher detail they put into the game - such as planets that don't look like a 100% compressed jpeg... but in any case its still not superior to the eve way of thinking that being less detail = less lag in 100000000 person fights =]

Don't worry this game will be banned as it is in some way linked to Germany, and as we all know, Germany is a very moral and kind nation that frowns on all kinds of violence, especially in videogames.

Sounds like more of a competitor to Jumpgate Evolution than to EVE.
EVE's only direct competitor is itself - attempting to hold onto new players through it's trademark harshness and attempting to keep around older players through the release of new expansions.
Oh I'm sorry, I forgot the obligatory /eve is dying!!!!

I watched some of the gameplay here: link
From what I can see it looks more like a clumsy version of the space missions from Star Wars Battlefront II than eve online. The setup is, at best, cumbersome and the music is very John Williams rip-off in the way that it sounds. It doesn't look very in-depth or involved but merely works on the format of pick a ship, pick a some weapons and go and shoot some things with people you neither know nor care about.
I doubt the creators had EVE in mind when they ripped off this game from Star Wars Battlefront II.
