hey, for once i didnt read any of the OP. i just thought the comedy club's KB was awesome. i saw it some time ago, and bookmarked just for the funny names for the links. ***** got flip flapped being my favorite.
it is at this time in the writing that i realize they changed their kb alot. some still exists, but not as good as it used to be.

Well the targets in low-sec are ever dwindling and this is one of the reasons. So I guess once MSCC goes 3 months between kills they might give up on EVE. Thanks guys.

I think that is last year you are talking about. Right now low sec, at least Placid, is pretty cool. Lotsa pvp/pirate groups all competing for a small amount of turf means lotsa pvpers to shot - good times!

Originally by: Tiny Tove You know this "honour" of which you speak, you do know it was invented by hollywood don't you?
Pirates never were decent honourable people. They were thieves and murderers. Anybody who honours a ransom isn't a pirate at all.
Maybe in 300 years we'll be role playing as paedophiles but with some curious "honour" system invented by hollywood to make us appear cute and cuddly like the fluffy androgenous prat that gets to play the loveable one in "Paedos Of The Catholic Church" or whatever.
Sounds like you are actually the one who watched a few too movies and shows. Pirates were men pressed into the navy or merchant fleets, usually under the age of 28, who rebelled due to horrible living situations. They were generally honorable, had a remarkable society and cared greatly about the codes and honor they had.
Most "pirates" in EVE are by no means pirates. But those that I consider decent pirates do uphold their ransoms, do uphold non agression pacts and for the most part, are good people to talk to in game. Having dealt with Middle School Comedy Club, I can say they were terribly fail, and smacktards, and most of you having dealt with pirates in a large portion of the game, can probably confirm this. It's no suprise, but it would be nice to know a few more pirates that pay ransoms. Oh well.

We honor/honour/etc ransoms and all those goodies. It's just the bits where we catch you on a gate or station that you don't get a ransom or you're trying to tarp us
I personally find honoring ransoms a good business practice and makes for some unusual friends or hatemails.

One of my corpmates got killed by them, same deal, they didn't honor the ransom of 40 million. Pathetic. Same system too. Oh well, this is EVE, but I will say the next pirate I come across I doubt I'll honor them just cuz of this experience.
When can we get together and go take THEM out?

I miss my ol' mining days where I would find a tranquil belt in low sec and mine the Jaspet there.
And then eventually would come a pirate in his big nasty battleship and would ransom my vexor (thats what I used to mine) for a few millions. Those days are long gone, I'm afraid.
Mind you, that was a long time ago.

The half dozen or so active MSCC just sit in Hysera and talk smack all day. It wouldn't be that hard to flush them out if you had some friends with decent ships.
Anyway, honoring ransoms is beneficial to pirates in the long term. Same goes for letting the little bears go so they come back as bigger bears sometime later on. But people are kind impatient and short-sighted.

A true pirate will ransom at every give opportunity. Someone who does not ransom in low-sec but merely kills is not a pirate at all, more of just someone with a strong blood lust... Taking in ransoms is not about being honorable at all, screw honor, its about making more money then just blowing up the captured ship. And when it comes down to it, a true pirate as only one thing in mind, making money.

So what's stopping your victim just refusing to pay, knowing you're going to blow him up anyway, and keeping his money to get new stuff?
You've given the victim 2 options.
1) Pay and be blown up 2) don't pay and be blown up
Number 2 becomes the more profitable option for the victim and all you get for your time and energy is wasted ammo and a fraction of the ransom from the few sundry items in his ships wreck.
Your logic is flawed.

Especially when you've used like 6 ships to kill a ratting/mission fit ship that any one of them alone could probably kill. Blowing up a ship that couldn't hold you in place even if they did try and fight back is a great achievement C/D?
Maybe it's time for some sort of right-click "Offer Ransom" feature ingame? You "offer ransom", they get a popup saying "Blah has offered you a ransom to spare your ship, do you accept?". If they accept and their ship gets blown up within the next minute then the ransom ISK is automatically returned to them? *shrug* Having said that perhaps an automated system is overkill.

I looked on their KB and how did they ransom you with all those other drakes from your corp in the fight? You were 1 of 4 to die? How did they ransom during that fight.

Hi guys, Judge Awesomepossum here.
Let me be the first to tell you that you're all dumb. None of what any of you are saying happened. We honour ransoms. Plain and simple. This is a conspiracy to take down the Club and all its members with defamation.
Pay your ransoms and your ship will survive. It's cool guys.
Thanks.

What this man speaks is known to all as the truth.
Those who ransom and honour said ransom = pirate. Those who ransom and then blow you up anyway = rat/griefer.
Despite those who tarnish the reputation of pirates we do honour our ransoms and do honour our contracts.

Thanks for taking the time to single out the people that are causing you grief specifically and addressing those issues only. I would have hated you to fall in to the same trap of over generalizing and taring everyone with the same brush. It is clear by your post that you do in fact care enough to live by a code of honor and will stick to it through thick and thin no matter the cost in tears or isk. It is a pleasure to be playing the same game as you.
