RR Not much of a sandbox when you are forced to adapt to someone's else's style of gameplay because it is what THEY want. Put it another way, EvE in 2007 was so awesome I never wanted to leave. Markets were great, players actually were honorable and fights were REAL fights, fairly fair. Eve was still dark, dont get me wrong, but null sec players understood the need for high sec and actually recruited from there. Get new players and wing them out to null to fight others. 2012, EvE has changed so much and yes while we have nicer graphics and more stuff to do, we have sacrificed much of the spirit of what made EvE what it is. We no longer have honorable fights, its **** you over and move on. Miners went from being treated as the backbones of society to more or less chew toys for dogs. Emergent gameplay? The only thing that is emerging from this style of gameplay is death. Not the death of a player but of a game. Change is a constant, I realize games change and people change, but not all change is good either. Goons are doing what all humans do, take advantage of others. However, they should realize the consequences of their actions because like it or not all actions have a consequence. If you wish to continue to bash miners and high sec fine. When this game is dead in 5 years you will just move on to another game to kill, but I love this game and would rather not see it die. I understand your trying to get people in high sec to band together to take you on so you have more targets to shoot, but know this. People in high security space are there for a reason, they exist to mine, mission, and play eve in "realitive" peace. There is a delicate balance with this game and unfortunately you have ****** that balance up and the worst part is, you just dont ******* care. Im in no way quiting, I am adapting by parking my hulk and running missions. Quite frankly it does no good to encourge others to do this because Goons still get to sell the minerals on market from their mining bots. Since there would be no other competition prices would still be soaring. So let us all just concede the fact that Goons now control EvE, you guys win. That is it, congratulations, you have done the impossible. You have won in a game that isnt supposed to be winable.

I agree with everything you just said. No one likes it when someone comes in and kicks over the six foot castle you spent hours building in the sandbox. I'm a good sport when someone blows up my stuff but it does not mean I like it. No one likes to lose at anything.
Despite what I just said, I still don't want anything changed in the game that makes i easier for me to win if it means making it harder for other players to win at what they do. Goonswarm and I have the same chance at succeeding. We're on the same level playing field. The only reason The Mittani and Goonswarm win like they win and I don't is because they are good at it. I'm not a Goonswarm cheerleader, I'm just mature enought to understand not everyone can be winners.

So yes, I'm a carebear and proud of it. I do about anything possible in EVE.
Ore mining (yes even with the usual pathetic little ganker lurking around) Ice mining (thanks for killing those bots more cash for us) Invention Scanning Manufacturing PVE missions PI
Did I miss something?
And yeah next to this wonderful carebear character I've made myself a, equal wonderful in its own way, PVP character as well. Looking forward to start ganking some Goon's butts!!!! oh no wait .... what?? .... I'm using it for Faction War ... yes that's it!!!
I love the game, I dislike some aspects of it (of course I'm my own individual with likes and dislikes), but in the end ... really I couldn't care less about some exhumer gankers.
PVE is one side of the game, PVP the other and to me both of them have their own fun and rewards.

God forbid you were to, I don't know, use a scout or something.
If you were to get your ass kicked in ten seconds then the gate camp you are referring to probably isn't that "lousy".
You realise you can easily fly all the way to VFK without a problem? Even in something like a battlecruiser, I'll bet you any amount of isk you'd like, that if you have any idea wtf you are doing you could fly just about anywhere in null sec without a scout and make it more often than not.
Seeing as that's still a pain in the ass you can definitely do it with a scout, 100 percent of the time, in an orca if you wish.
My point being, EVE isn't that hard, quit making it so hard. I hope you succeed in ganking "goon butt", but without a change in thinking I doubt you will.

Hello fellow pubbies, losers , carebears, neckbears, and nerds.
Trust me, we all fit there somewhere. I joined Eve just a few years ago. Back then, the big, bad, evil , overbearing overlords of Eve was a group they referred to as "BoB".
I spent countless hours playing Eve as a noob, everyone spoke of BoB, but I never saw him. they remained deep in their territory and really never troubled the little groups like ours. Our little group of new players, trying to learn the ways of Eve together.
We learned to fight, we learned to make ISK by mining, missions and anything else we wanted to try.
Later in my Eve life span, I wanted more. I joined that group that was so feared. By this time BoB had morphed into "IT alliance".
I learned to really fight. I learned the fleet doctrine, how to follow orders and to be an important member of a fleet. SirMolle still has my respect.
As things do... Things changed, Real Life got in the way. I had to exit my membership of the alliance. But over the last years, I had gained many friends.
Real life dictated my time. Four kids in college, a business that was booming. But I never gave up on my Eve friends. I became a Carebear. Grinding a rock or two.. Hitting the chat channels. Visiting with those in my contact list. Adding another account to make mining or missions just a little more interesting or profitable. Lets not forget, giving CCP around $90US a month. Just to stay in contact.
Today, I take pride in what I have accomplished in Eve. In taking the time to help the new pilot, and in return help retain someone that is going to stay in Eve.
So to all those that want to say my play style is wrong - If you want to pay for all of my accounts. Then you can dictate to me the way I play.
Am I a carebear? Hell Yes! But it is what I chose to pay for, Is this an Alt? If you have to ask, your a moron.

The Mittani wrote:I am delighted to announce that Goonswarm Federation will be increasing its support to the broader EVE community - to any player, not just those in our alliance, even those who are hostile to us - by continuing our sponsorship of the "Hulkageddon" player event indefinitely. Hulkageddon V has been the most successful in history, partially because of our sponsorship subsidizing independent participants at even the most casual level. This has brought the community together as never before - and we're going to keep giving back to the community even though the official contest has ended! We will continue running our automated killboard system, and - just as during the event - for every block of 10 exhumers you destroy, Goonswarm Federation will send you 100m isk. You don't even have to do anything to apply for the isk, it's entirely automated, allowing you to focus completely on ganking - our effort-free gift to those brave players who make EVE unique and interesting. If you somehow missed Hulkageddon and would like to consider exhumer ganking as a profession, check out the 'Getting Started' tutorial here. Even casual ganking can rack up 10 kills in a day! So here's to you, Hulkageddon participants! You keep making this wonderful game great, and we'll foot the bill - this one's on us!
Translation: WE ARE MAKING SO MUCH FREAKING ISK FROM YOU GUYS WORKING FOR US, WE ARE NOT GOING TO STOP!!!!
Funny how all you are falling for this. As they mentioned, they own a huge amount of the T2 material moons so are making billions if not trillions off of that. And to top it off, I am guessing that they probably own most, it not all the Hulk BPOs that are still in game, so for every hulk that is destroyed, they just sell you one at a HUGE profit compared to invention. So even if they pay you 10mil per hulk you destroy they are still probalby making 100mil for each one they sell.
For them to say they are footing the bill.... yeah right..... good one. :)
And btw, before the accusations start flying, i'm not a miner, no tears here, just pointing out the obvious that very few seem to see. |

The silliest people in this thread are the ones who try to point out the "scam".
Before this new exciting player driven content people ganked at their loss.
Now they can make money doing what they want; and not peanuts either cosidering the costs of the gank ships and modules dropped. |
