I have spent 5,000 dollers on my PC for the EVE's push to the new trinity graphics with big battles etc.
And I've played FPS Games (all BATTLEFIELD Searies PC Only)+ more and RTS games on the PC too so umm i woudent be used to a console version also cause i dont have a 360 or a ps3, and besides this DUST 514 looks more like BATTLEFIELD EVE :P
so ya I, Daniel Jackson Signs this petition for DUST 514 to be released for the PC. ___

A PC version could potentially be a WoW killer of an MMORPG.

We're paying for EVE, don't punish us for that with making a shooter for consoles only =)

Not cool CCP, you are letting down your client base. Remember, it is EVE online that made you big and it is the PC demographic that pays you. Don't screw over your homebase. -------------------------------------------------- I love your mom. |

Console shooters are crap indeed but only so because they don't support a mouse and keyboard interface.
- Allow for mouse and keyboard play with adustable input sensitivity, in addition to regular gamepads.
The PS3 slim and Xbox 360 are going to be quite affordable both of them now, whilst I feel that it's unecessary for CCP to only release it on consoles I don't really have much of a problem with it (and I'm not owning a console currently)

especially if you're going to tie it to sov in any way - let us recruit the people fighting for sov from our own ranks :pewpew: |

No.
I can do without seeing sov lost because of an aiming bot.
Keep the nearly inevitable cheating out of DUST, please, CCP. The kind of drama that would result, we can completely do without.

Edited by: Yobbit on 20/08/2009 18:08:31 Edited by: Yobbit on 20/08/2009 18:06:45 Don't release this game for PC - at least not in the near future. PC shooters suck, constantly get pirated, and have a small, whiny, and annoying fanbase. Plus, making a good PC shooter isn't the same as making a good console shooter. The different input methods alone make for different styles of play. Concentrate all your resources on making a great game for the consoles. If the game is good in and of itself, you'll attract a huge and entirely new fanbase. Once you've got that solidly in place, then maybe start thinking about a PC release.
<edit> oh yeah - and PC shooters will give you a giant headache from hackers. Consoles won't.

Of course CCP wants to make a console game. There's no money in PC games outside MMOs. Consoles are where the money is. The Xbox is a single platform with a mature dev kit - no testing on fifty video cards, no planning backwards compatibility, no hardware performance diversity and no crazy hacker crap. That means a more stable product for you and way more profit for CCP. Plus, Microsoft takes care of a lot of the infrastructure and hosting.
Plus, many of you have forgotten that consoles are MADE FOR GAMES.

The reason you get such a plethora of hacks on pc games are because nearly everyone of them was designed from scratch to be player modifiable to prolong the effective life of the game and provide new content that the publisher doesn't have to pay for. Now if you make a game that has no accessable moddable parts then the chance of hacks are greatly reduced and a simple crc check on the game files will probably suffice against hackers who changed things on the binary level. Plus there are plenty of other means to beat hackers that ccp could use so that argument has little weight for not making dust available for pc.

But all it takes is one person to break down the defenses.
It doesn't matter how good the defenses are, someone will get through.
Also, as said above, making games on the console is a ****-ton easier than on the PC. ------------------------------------- My other alt is A Ferrari

If it affects EVE sov, it should be accessible to EVE's current playerbase without the undue cost of a new platform. |

You can not have a console game released, affecting a PC universe, and then force PC users to go buy a console just to save their own regions.
