I'm running a 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, Mac OS X 10.5.7. My patched failed.

Mac OS X (version 10.5.6) 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Patched from latest Eve version and same error issues as others listed - claims there are modified files. Definitely not touched them! Not a hacker. Now removed the mac.tgz file as suggested and sincerely hoping not to have to download entire client (current time estimate on that download is over 7 and a half hours...)
Look forward to seeing a resolution soon

I *have* an Intel Mac Pro. Thanks for stopping by and "helping us out" at least those of us who have trouble.
Finished?
Good.
I mean that since I'm having no problems it could be limited to a certain type of mac. Nobody bothered to post what kind of mac they're on so I was just piping in that I'm recieving no problems with the patch on an intel mac in the hope one of you might be able to narrow down the possible causes.
Have any of you tried running a software update and permission repair? Thanks.

Hacker.
Sure. In the real sense of the term (that is, not a cracker).
It was during last year mac client multiple hickups when they patched/reverse patched multiple times. A long series of cider versions was released on SiSi then tentatively on TQ then reverted etc etc.
There were multiple ****ups with the patches and counter patches and SiSi patches etc. And I (and I was not the only one) was playing with several "home made" combinations of cider/eve-client. Running the old cider with the new eve-client on TQ when the officially released cided did not work (and in fact in a few days they officially patched back into the old cider) etc.
I remember once I tried to change one of the files that contain the default configuration. The client has "deafult" config files that are copied into the preferences folders if you run it and there's no preference folder. I was tired of having to continuosly run the client (to create the default preferences), close it, edit the preferences, run the client again. So I was trying to just chance the defaults. But it did not work: EVE does run very well whith non default settings, but it checksums the file with the defaults (IMO a stupid decision, but that's what they do).

84244 was, if I remember well, the original Apo client released march 10.

hrhr, i expected it again, always the same with these mac-patches... onse it doesnt work or you have to download the full build - least i doing btw - waiting waiting waiting for what in that time i loaded it 3 times. Or u copy the Windowsinstallation (if you also have an Win X PC) into your contentpackage. It runs but u dont have a possibility to patch it later.
Thx again for that grat work again.

Not starting a flame war here but EVE through Cider only runs on Intel Mac's. It's quite common knowledge.
Anyway thanks for reaching out my apologies if I came over anywhere near rude.

Can you grab a specific application from time machine and restore it, or do you have to restore the entire restore point?

Okay - this may help some people who have time machine or another backup system in place.
I rolled my Eve Online client back to May 25th, (happens to be version 88974) using Time Machine, then launched it. The Autopatcher downloaded patch 88974-94178. This WORKED for me, and I now have a working client on Tranquility.
Someone else got version 84244 to auto-patch also (see above)....
So, the problem seems to be specifically related to the patch file from yesterday's current version to todays. If you can find a backup of an older client, try restoring from that and then auto-patching.
Good luck - I'm off to fly my Mega :-)

No. The files that fail the checksum are part of the .nib files that define the cider menu. This is hardware unrelated. And most probably also totally unrelated to the OS or any other Apple SW.
In fact I'm not even sure why SOME people do not have the issue. My guess is that there are two versions of those resources around. Those that generally patch very early on each time there's a patch have one version, and those that do it later have another. Or maybe it depends on what "original" client you have (latest client you installed from scratch instead of patching it from a previous version). Or even something totally different again. No idea.

I'm running a Mac Pro early 08 version, 2.8 Ghz Quad-Core Intel Xeon, 12GB Ram, 512mb GeForce 8800 (old card I know), SATA2 HDD. Honestly I don't think it has anything to do with the machines and their Mac OS versions, I reckon its just the awkward programming of an Eve client for Mac.

Have you tried a permissions repair? It's generally good practice to do it once a month anyway like I do and, I have found, has fixed a wealth of problems in the past.

Does anyone has a torrent for the 2,4 GB full? It seems as I would have to wait for 7 more hours to finish downloading... :(

I agree with Pak Seongsu, the clue lies in when a Mac user patches, basically be patient, you auto-patch too early it seems to choke up. When I have patched late, it functions fine. It's odd but I think that may be a clue why these problems occur.

Similarly, if no-one auto patches early, these issues are not found and reported.

I'd like to remind people of the "OS X" channel ingame. I'm there to answer questions for those of you who are already ingame.
We're hoping to be close to a resolution to this problem. We're still working on it.

goto: ~/Library/Preferences/EVE Online Preferences/p_drive/All Users/Application Data/CCP. Delete all the contents of that folder.

Did not know about that channel...thanks Casqade.
Out of curiosity, if you are a mac person, did the machine you patched work?
Why was this not tested on different mac setups?

I expect these are the ones for whome the patch applied without a problem.
