In a couple of days i finally complete my marauder skill.
Gunnery skills and stuff are all good so no further worry about it in this thread. The purpose of the Kronos will be PvE orientated.
But i have been searching through this forum and noticed that the Kronos is almost never spoken about while the Golem seems to be hot! Then i moved to the battleclinics and i also noticed here that the amount of fits is pretty limited.
So is the Kronos just a myth or can it be worth flying if we for example compare it to a sentry dommi which i am using now?
Also what would be a descent fit? So far the only fit i found that looks 'normal' is:
[High] 425mm Railgun II 425mm Railgun II 425mm Railgun II 425mm Railgun II Small Tractorbeam I Small Tractorbeam I Salvager I
[Mid] Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II X5 Prototype I Engine Enervator
[Low] Large Armor Repairer II Armor Kinetic Hardener II Armor Kinetic Hardener II Armor Thermic Hardener II Armor Thermic Hardener II Magnetic Field Stabilizer II Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
[Rig] Large Capacitor Control Circuit I Large Capacitor Control Circuit I
I understand that these mods can be changed for faction to increase performance
Thanks in advance

you know, the reason why people speak more about the golem than the kronos is because ofthe same reason why people prefer the raven to the megathron
also, the kronos is a nasty blasterboat, but that's a more pvp oriented role. ---

I fly a Kronos for level 4¦s and I must say upgradeing from a Dominix to a Kronos was rather crazy. It practicly cut my mission time in half. It took a little getting used to but once you get the hang of it it really starts giveing money back to you.
I would say its a great investment.

I replaced my max drone skill T2 Sentry/425mm Domi with a kronos, like the previous poster I saw a huge difference in mission times, It needs high skills to shine but it is a great mission ship.
I recently went back to the Domi and found it frustrating.
I run Lvl V missions, my Kronos has well over 100 missions under its belt so far.

Fit a cap injector rather than rechargers (note huge cargo bay), three magnetic field stabs, tracking computer, use the web bonus and fit armor repair rigs.
Use a drone link augmenter, otherwise drone control range is less than the sphere of death created by your guns with antimatter. Also if when killing this fast only bother to salvage battleship wrecks, dont waste time on smaller ones.
You may want to splash out on a few faction mods, mainly an armor rep and the magnetic field stabs.

Note: Ship is meant to loot and salvage while running the mission, hence the huge cargo bay. Don't waste it on 800's when you can have it run cap stable without.

I think it's a shame that the Kronos has such an ordinary drone bay... I would have much preferred to see a Marauder drone ship.

I never use Cap injectors but I guess if you actually consume them you will have room for loot as the mission progresses, personally I find the 37.5% Marauder rep amount bonus and an Armor hardwiring means the repper isn't stressed, I don't fit any cap mods at all, apart from CCC's ofc.
2 Omnis for the 3 Garde II's, 2 tracking comps with both types of script available and a Web/TP/AB/cap charger as suited to the mission.
3 mag stabs in lo.
This for lvl 4's, for Lvl V's I fit a medium repper and rely on a NH for tanking.

Hybrid Burst Aerator II Auxiliary Nano Pump I
Mix of small and medium drones.
It rips through serpentis and guristas missions ridiculously fast, and also does angels at a reasonable rate. It does enough damage that I rarely have to use cap charges. The occasional pulse of the repper is all that is needed in most cases.
Use ZGL1000 and CX-2 implants for even more damage. Get faction ammo from the LP store and it is well worth using - with only 4 guns it doesn't use all that much anyway.
Using cap rechargers in the mids is such a waste - the tracking computers mean you get an optimal of about 50km with antimatter, and in conjunction with the web (which is 90%) and tracking speed scripts it makes it easy to kill stuff that comes close.
A T2 rate of fire rig is much better than damage, because the way stacking nerfs work you still get a useful boost from it. Damage rigs have a similar bonus to the mag stabs, so stacking affects them much more.

The hybrid rig doesnt add much dps, then if you just use CCC rigs + 1 cap recharger you also got enough cap, without it costing more slots or needing cap boosters.

CCC's are so vanilla. I'd be tempted to look at a locus rig or two to increase your effective antimatter range.

domi is more versatile in choice of mission rats, and even t2 vanilla domi does a gd job, so kronos is kinda lacking as mission boat or as a real upgrade for the price tag. for gurristas/serpentis it's ok maybe.

If you have the skills the Kronos is better... Sure there is only one way to run it but mission speed is going to be faster, esp if you include salvage time. It also gives you something to do while beating down those BS's IE salvage. The domi has a bit more options and will really shine with lower skilled pilots... heck even non drone based builds are pretty decent on a domi. I personally swap around my missions ships, and even use a BB megathron on Angel missions... ------- "Because the Dominix is the Chuck Norris of Eve!" |

Why not go with blaster and an MWD? Can run cap stable the repper, but not repper + MWD. You get down to 18 km range, but 1 km/s top speed and 900ish DPS with drones. Only your defenses are very limited.

I'm missionning with matar so i fight principally angel.
Kronos is a real good upgrade from the dominix even here.
I tried different fit and seriously don"t go with 350mm, you are loosing too much dps from not being able to fire with AM in a lot of mission.
high : 4*425mm t2 3*whatever you want
Med : 1*AB (i hate slow ship and being able to control the range of your fight is te best way to avoid dmg or killing faster) 2*TC (more range for firing with AM, and more tracking at close range) 1*cap rech
Low : 1*LAR faction / complex 3*hardner 3*Mag stab

Main reason the Kronos is considered bad is that it's the only marauder that's not viable with short range guns, for pve.
As for the people advocating the kronos over the domi for sheer missiontimes, were you using 6 425mm rails and 3 damage upgrades prior to the upgrade or did you have a more standard armor tanked version? Parrots, commence!

People often say something like "with the proper skills this ship is fine..." what would be the "proper skills".
I am new to the game and have been looking at what I should be training towards, so I would be very interested in knowing what (Other than the obvious skills to "fly" the ship) folks feel the proper skills are.

if you are up against gur/serps, you should be better off in the kronos then the paladin, kronos vs golem might be close though.

6*425mm on a dom ?
I'm really interested to see what kind of set-up it is.
sniping domi you will use sentry, then you need 1 drone control unit.
Now if you want a set of 425mm +3*mag stab i really wonder what kind of tank you gonna have, and with sentry you are kinda stuck in place.

Prior to my kronos I used a Domi with Warden/Bouncer II's plus 5 dread Guristas 425mm's,(low Pg) With 3 magstabs and 2 tracking comps plus 3 Omni's I used to sit at 70km and snipe the rats, Most were down before they could hit, so I used a minimal tank, Deadspace Mar plus a couple of hardeners. If you fit a Lar you run out of PG/cpu/cap. Worked ok for me for over a year but I wouldnt swap it for the Kronos.

Don't waste a mid slot on a web, anything that gets close enough to use a web then your doing it wrong, even with a top of the range web. Trust me i don't use a web and my drones kill frigs while i kill everything else and i kill FAST. I sometimes just
Kill everything insid 40k so you can then tractor all wrecks and come back later to salvage (only if BS heavy missions or i don't bother)
I will give you my fit but it's not cap stable so you have to micro manage, use your cargo thats what its there for, i carry max 15 // 20 800's in cargo and i have never ever used them all up in a mission and i do lots of missions vs bloods (NOS)
