Is this just a clever use of game mechanics?
- Pirate warps to belt and bombs away the ships - Pirate ejects from his BS - Pirates friend jumps from shuttle to the BS - Friend warps off happily whenever he wants - Pirate in the pod warps back to his safe spot. - 15 minutes - Repeat
Or would that be an exploit?

Have you even tried this?
Problem 1: Concord will continue killing the ships if I recall correctly. Problem 2: there is a bug, erm feature where concord might pod you if you eject from a ship. problem 3: I think the ship will be targeted by concord so friend will not be able to board said ship.
Unless something changed those are the flaws to the plan.

concord is faster than that they arrive in less than 30 seconds he would have to get in that bs and out really quick unless he didn't have a negative sec status, but yes if this is possible this is an exploit. I might try it out thanks for the tip.

Let me know if you get podded after you eject, that feature is at least 3 years old and was still in game 2 years ago. not sure about it now.

These threads seem to pop up every now and then, from people trying to find a way around the CONCORD mechanics.
To make it abundantly clear - there is NO, repeat NO, legal game mechanic that allows you to keep your ship once CONCORD gets involved. If you draw the wrath of CONCORD, you are absolutely guaranteed to lose your ship. Even if this would "work" (which it won't), the devs will simply intervene and take your ship from you. As the guy above said, evading CONCORD in any way is considered an exploit in and of itself.
I'd suggest that you stop trying to find ways to evade CONCORD, concentrate more on ways to gank the target faster than CONCORD can kill your ship, and pick your targets carefully enough that it's worth losing your ship for.

Edited by: Kewso on 24/08/2009 22:39:29 the other way, if you had it setup :)
have a shuttle sitting there
you warp in with your bs and kill targets
eject
board shuttle
concord blows up the shuttle
reboard the bs
go on your merry way :)

I escaped CONCORD once upon a time
I was in my Succubus and then I accidently shot a can (no wrecks at the time), and then got a bad "WERE GUNNA GETCHU" msg pop up and thought I was stuffed. I hit my MWD and then CONCORD spawned, locked me but didn't fire. I get to 200k-ish and they un-spawn and re-spawn next to me and the same thing happens. This happens for 15 mins til' the thing runs out and they stop chasing me...

the shuttle trick used to work, don't know about now since nothing targets it, if ejected and board the shuttle just before concord arrives they blow up the shuttle.

The ship you use to aggro someone and get concorded keeps its criminal flag even if you eject before concord arrives. As far as wierd concord evasions there was a caldari station with about 30 noob shis left at various spots on the undock to mire down big ships trying to warp away so I undocked and got into one to shoot the station and collect a gcc so I could just enter each one to have it blown up by concord. Well concord appeared but it was on the far side of the station and the got all tangled up in each other and just sat there doing nothing but flashing yellow at me. Eventualy had to slowboat around the side to get them unstuck and then they rushed me to do thier duty.

It should or at least it used to. This was about four years ago so who knows what mechanics may have changed. Matter of fact I seem to remember the sentry guns not firing either but then again this was back when the motsu black hole of lag reached to the far corners of caldari space so it could have been some form of desync.

Once on sisi i found several megathron's floating round a station after undocking in a shuttle. I ejected from the shuttle and boarded 1 of the mega's then shot at the station.
Concord not only blew up the mega i borarded, but also the unmaned shuttle i left behind.
That was a year+ ago so may have changed since then.

This. People have had their ships floating in POSes get nuked by CONCORD because they went on GCC.

Not even that IIRC. If you shoot the station then you get a timer against the corp that owns the station - nothing more. The station guns will shoot you but that's it (and you can just warp out, or tank them and dock).
At a moon with two stations on the same grid (owned by different corps) I've seen someone shoot one station and warp to the other which is ~500k away, and the guns will still be shooting them and missing.

Stated above is true.
Concord will keep firing on the ship since both it and you have a GCC. Whatever YOU board will also be shot at. Also, the ship will be targetted and thus impossible to board.
Will not work. And even if it did = Avoiding Concord is lah exploit leads to dah ban. ----- Why doesn't anyone ever read the forums before posting? EVE is a game of adaptation and planning. Adapt or die. |
