I know this idea has been proposed before, but I can't find the thread (I guess that means I'm an idiot).
I would like to see an interface similar to the "Selected Item" interface of the overview for the drones that would enable much easier management of drones. I dislike how there is no one-click option for recalling drones en masse or deploying drones... All drone actions are catalyzed by a right click, which I simply find annoying.
I realize that, because of the sheer number of interfaces, the screen begins to get cramped, but I would like to see that option be available (especially since it players could remove it if they wouldn't want it).
This would be especially helpful for fighting Sleepers, who attack your drones on their own whims. It would be nice to be able to QUICKLY and EFFICIENTLY recall/redeploy the drones as necessary, rather than the sluggish and annoying right click.
Just a sidenote: yes, i REALIZE that right-click is your friend in EVE! Just an idea!

I wholeheartedly agree, I would quite appreciate better drone manipulation. My hope is that we get two buttons beside our drones... "Launch/Engage" and "Orbit/Return". If you click launch when the drone or drone group is docked, they launch. If you hit it when they are launched, then they engage your current target. When you hit orbit, the drones all return and orbit, hitting orbit again (or double clicking orbit) returns the drones to the drone bay.
Technically speaking, I don't think this would cause any extra bandwidth use, considering it's a UI change, It uses the same commands right-clicking would, only in an pair of contexual buttons... It would also make drone organization more useful because you actually could quickly do something with your neatly lined-up drone groups.

If there are, I had no idea, and I don't know how to use them. Explain! Maybe that's the answer.

Under the escape menu you will find a tab for shortcuts, drone controls are in the Ds. Though their hot key control is limited, it is sufficient.

Not hard to launch a group of 5 drones. At least not if you have organized them in categories.
What I would like to see on a more priority is that you can manage those categories or groups while docked up. ---------------------------------- None of yet! |

right, drone management is maybe a better title than drone interface upgrade because that's really what I think needs to be fixed. yes, there are hotkeys (which, by the way, I've now started using haha), but they aren't all-encompassing. I just think it would be nice to have easier, quicker, and more efficient control of drones, seeing as it's my main weapon. I mean, hell, everything with guns can be done without right-clicking (i suppose with the exception of reloading/changing ammo), so why not with drones?

Sufficient? Would it be sufficient to fire your guns via right click? Or your missiles?
Just because there is an "sufficient" (read, cumbersome) solution doesn't rule out an better one...

Agreed. This probably seems like a slightly trivial issue compared to the ones around it, but it's something that's always managed to annoy the hell out of me :P

actually, there is a shortcut for reloading ammo as well...
what i would like to see is a drone damage reports...
something like your group of Hammerhead II's hit Sleepless Defender for 900 damage...
there are damage reports for guns... why not for drones???

ah yeah, i saw the megabump on that other post :P i agree with that thought as well. it's annoying to not know how much damage your drones are doing as a whole! the only way I know is through EFT's mathematical predictions!
