Might be a necro but: I installed Snow Leopard about a week ago and since then I have a lot of problems with Eve. I click the program, I get the apocrypha splash screen and BOOM crash. Crash reporter hangs So I quit the crash reporter from the dock, click again, splash screen comes up, screen turns white and stays that way. I cannot get to another program or force quit since the mac freezes and doesn't seem to do anything else but let me move my cursor and turn caps lock on and off (little habit of mine to see if the system froze or not). Only thing I can do is turn the macbook (pro) off and on again, and then usually it works. Overal performance is good enough. Anyone else experiencing this?

In EVE terms it shoudl officially be called "SLOW LEOPARD".
Just installed a few days ago, my Mac ran fine, but have had some weird lag issues in EVE, especially when dual boxing.
SO I reinstalled plain Leopard and I now remember why I don't like reinstalling a previous OS. Can you say "sorting through the previous systems folder suck"?

Upgraded about a week of snow leopard going public in Aus. Since then I get about 2-3 screen hangs each night as I jump through gates... pretty frustrating :\
Spec:
iMac 24" 3.06Ghz Core 2 Duo 4Gb 800Mhz DDR2 OSX 10.6.1
Had second screen attached, normally dual screen eve but have had countless hangs solo.

My 2ct to this matter: EVE ran perfectly on my late-2006 MacbookPro, even now with SL. It also runs perfectly on my brand-new MacBook Pro (mid 2009) with SL, looks much better on the new matte screen but...
(and that's a huge but!)
... only once after booting. I can command-tab in and out of EVE, but once I quit, there's no going back. Splash screen shows, disappears, nothing happens, just the EVE icon sitting unresponsive in the task bar.
Have to reboot the machine to get it to work again, which is a pain.
Same happens when I deactivate the nvidia chip and use onboard graphics, except it hangs already on the first try after booting.

Originally by: CCP Fallout I've not yet checked out EVE, but I'm really impressed with this OS. It freed up 30 gigs of HD space, and just seems to run so much more smoothly. Very happy.
noticed same, i was like "hello 30 gigs of space " - was a nice little surprise
overall i like 10.6 very much, haven't tried installing EVE on it yet but for all other intents and purposes it is working out great
