Greetings!
I created a trial account 1 year and 4 months ago, played for 10 days, and then quit. Two days ago, I upgraded my trial to a regular account and I'm relearning everything.
Previously, there was a channel called 'rookie help' that I could log onto to ask questions, but I can't log onto it anymore because I'm no longer considered a rookie. I've tried to use the regular help channel but people frequently seem to ignore basic questions and sometimes I've even been given wrong information.
Would it be possible for the system to base its definition of rookie on actual days the account has been active as opposed to how long the account has existed? Or maybe just have GMs in the regular Help chat?
Thank you for your time, Makkal
PS: There have also been some very helpful and friendly people in the regular Help and I do appreciate their patience. I'm not saying it's a hive of scum and villainy, that's Local. |

Apparently you are considered to be a rookie for 30 days since that is the limit you stay in the rookie channel. There is often an ISD-guy or two in the regular help channel, and sometimes even a CCP-guy. Other than this, I find questions are usually answered quite quickly there, but of course, the discussions can sometimes stray from the topic, perhaps you just had some bad luck.... Hi Makkal Hanaya
The Rookie Channel is only available for characters on accounts that are less than 30 days old. Changing the rules to account activity won't make much sense, as every veteran player would get a 30-day free pass to the channel just by leaving their account inactive for an hour, and then applying more gametime
If what you are looking for is a GM, don't use the Help Channels. Game Masters will never take action through the help channel. Instead Create a petition
ISDs cover the ingame help channels. We tend to answer fewer questions in regular Help, as there are quite alot of really helpful people in there already, which lets us focus on assisting the new players in Rookie Help. We are still trying to moderate Help, to keep it running smoothly.
If you are using any of the public help channels, and feel that people are being disruptive, and breaking the rules, feel free to create a petition, so it can be taken care of. ISD Etetia Commander ISD STAR |

Lol how did this work out in your head?
A "veteran" player will have played for more than 30 days, logging off for an hour wont change that /facepalm.
Anyway, what the OP is requesting kinda makes sense, but at the same time I get that its easier for CCP to have it setup how it is atm.

I remember my time as a rookie and after 2 weeks rookie channel got instantly minimized. Boy was I glad it disappeared after another 2 weeks.
But maybe it helped I got picked up by a corp when I was 10 days old who where very helpful to guide me my first days through EVE.
To the OP, this forum can be really helpful to you if you have any questions. Also your native NPC corp channel can have quite a lot of helpful people around. A lot of them are alts of vets.
Another thing is that I found that using Google for the many questions I had back then about EVE and its inner working was really rewarding.
Anyway, don't be afraid to ask questions here in this forum topic. Lots of really helpful people here.
Oh, welcome back. Who needs television when you have EVE? EVE drama, best drama. |

Welcome back to Eve.
Pak Narhoo is correct, there should be some helpful players in your NPC corp.
Just wanted to add that the Evelopedia also has a lot of info and Guides available.
