Funny how people thought they were the **** with that lame. You wernt honestly.
Id happily run heavy tanker ships into a blob of em, they'd only kite until one idiot got caught Lovely gistii

oh well, goodbye nanos, it was fun to kill you
Preety much. I miss it, but it's gone.
Originally by: baltec1 It is no longer a one sided fight when facing a fast ship these days and it is letting me have a great time with slowboats and whacky ideas.
You mean, HACs no longer have to disengage or die (or bring 11ty billion mates, but that surprisingly always works) vs my plated "slowboats". Now they just don't want to fight as a rule Plus I have to gimp any short-range setup I fly with stupid 10.8km tackle, which is just awesome for actually catching people.
No I mean that I can now kill fast targets as apposed to just giving them a beating. In the days of nano it was generaly nano get a kill or flee while slowboats drive them off or die, which was very one sided. HACs still roam around solo and still get the kills, they just dont have a get out of jail free card anymore.

Well, they're sometimes easier to kill (provided you have a scram to stop their MWD, which also has shorter range now) but often refuse to play altogether.
And it was not "generally nano get a kill or flee while slowboats drive them off or die" in my experience when it was a solo affair, but rather the other way around (except vs rapiers and such; they always got to bugger off thanks to range control. Almost always anyway). It's just that they were really good at fleeing. So you had to resort to trickery to land that web, or surprise them with interdiction maneuvers and heat.

Getting a fight was easy because most nano pilots had an ego the size of a small moon but once I got them into the range I wanted they would just get out of web range in short order due to the momentum, then neut range and then warp off, which is how most of my targets got away from me. Although these days my sentinel does not have the dps to a kill HAC as fast due to them now actually fitting a tank I dont miss nano.

The nano age was just awful.
Giving players with a massive pile of isk basically risk-less pvp was ever so slowly killing eve.
See, as things are now, you can speed tank pretty damn well, and thats good. But now if you get webbed or neuted or something, then you have a problem.
Before hand, you could have a crack at just about anyone and then vanish if they are well fit. That sucked. It also sucked that the ships designed to pin down those nippy ships couldn't even catch up to them. That was not funny.

Wasn't a fan of nanoships myself. Sure, you couldn't be hit in a Vagabond going 20km/sec. But you couldn't hit anything either. It takes a lot of "barely scratches" to add up to real damage. The only thing that made the tactic viable was the large gangs you needed to break a decent tank.
In terms of getting away... it really isn't any harder now than it was before as a result of the way they gimped webs.
