right this is about the Navy issue apocalypse, the ship is rather pointless given its cost, the only difference between it and the normal apoc is an extra low-slot which to be honest it doesnt really need. the ship should instead have a better bonus to something like damage or rate of fire as opposed to the Range bonus which is actually a nerf if your trying to mission run with it. any thoughts on this one?

Extra low slot pointless for an Amarr ship?
Also, use Pulse lasers on Apoc and Navy Apoc for missions.

well yea, i fly an abaddon and ive no real need for an extra low-slot, why not give it a boost to damage? such as the CNR gets an extra Launcher hardpoint, increasing its damage and making it far betetr for missions, amarr dont really have a mainstream mission boat.

A Navy Apoc can out-range your Abaddon by almost 20km(Considering both use MP II's) and have much more tank and cap stability, while having a bit lower DPS.

Stop whining and fit another heat sink. The Apoc is a great ship, and an extra low slot can only make it better.

The navy apoc has a huge armor bonus in comparison to the apocalypse.
Whether you like to think about it or not, these Faction ships are meant to be PvP ships, not mission ships. More health and that extra low slot are a massive benefit in the areas they are SUPPOSED to be used in.
They are fine, stop carebearing in them and use them the way they were meant to be used.

Extra lowslot =
+15% Optimal, +9.5% Tracking or + 10% Damage, -10.5% ROF or +24% Cap recharge or +55% armor resistance
This is useless?

this is all rather pointless, because if you look in test server feedback youd realise they are redoing faction battleships and adding in tier 1 navy BS's (domi, phoon, etc)
so go over there and look at the new ships. then come back and argue _______________________ Please resize your signature to the maximum file size of 24000 bytes. Zymurgist

An extra lowslot IS a boost to damage, whether directly or indirectly. Another HS, TE, more cap or tank to free up a mid/rig slot. Scorch to 80 or even 100km if you go all out, sounds pretty cool to me, and Pulse MF to 30km, Gamma to 40 isn't bad either. Or just Scorch to 70km with more room for other mods besides range/tracking.
Pulse NavyPoc can be a really decent ship, I wouldn't sneeze at it, if it weren't for the Nightmare and Pally, both of which cost twice as much. You could use Aba where it's limited range isn't an issue, and Poc when more range is beneficial.
Navyships are due for a slight boost in the next patch, if I understood correctly, though as it currently stands, NavyPoc won't change much.

well except for the CNR...
CNR is an excellent PvP ship. The new, improved CNR even more so.

Yeah, it's a good PVP ship too, but Footoo touched on something interesting that has been bothering me for a long time.
Caldari get their hands held by CCP. They get rats with the best faction loot, they get the best epic arc reward, they get the best 0.0 space and the most valuable officer loot, they get the easiest kind of rats to tank (torpedoes and cruise missiles? seriously ), they get excellent COSMOS rewards, they get excellent attributes (back in the day with the Achura), and overall they're just a bit "special." Hell, even their LP is worth more than other's LP.
Just, bleh.

beam + sentry navy geddon is going to be awesome for missions, the extra bay for 2 flights of lights ftw!
apoc is meh for anything but 0.0 fleet sniper, and dunno why you would want to buy the navy one for that role. although I know a few people with too much isk, although I don't think they care much for giant blobs
abaddon is probably the best amarr mission runner sub paladin/nightmare, damage bonus ftw! and no, don't use pulse.
but yes, agreed, the navy apoc is pretty sad face
