Ok, the title pretty much states the obvious.
But seriously...
Does anyone else think that their should be a seperate subsystem for t3 logistics?
Bonuses to range and cap use, but not as much as the t2 ones.
It just annoys the hell out of me to see a pointlessly awful bonus that really deserves to be something good. Making it a seperate subsystem would mean the devs could nerf the crap out of the ships ability to do anything else except remote rep.
C'mon ... please ?
Logistics pilots need some love too.

Yeah. A little range bonus would be nice. They're not supposed to be as good at specific roles as t2 ships, but right now they're just useless as logistics. Of course, about half the subs in general are worthless so it's probably more overall bad design than ccp singling out the logi sub.

so T3 cruisers were supposed to be better than the specialists?

No, but they aren't supposed to be useless either. Are you really so thick that you can't figure out that there's a middle ground between massive range bonus and no range bonus?

Frigate sized logistics ships would be awesome.

T3 ships were supposed to be strategic cruisers - so YES they should be able to do fr#%" everything.
Not as well as the speciallist ships (a tengu will never be as good as the basilisk) but, stil - shouldnt be compleatly useless.
T3 have 2 or 3 good setups atm. The remaining combinations are utterly crap.

Because that's what they were designed for? And besides, they already have a logistics sub, it's just useless, so what are you complaining about exactly?

Why? What's "strategic" about doing everything? ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |

This. Stop crying and play the game instead of trying everything to ruin it.

their supposed to be the most versatile, so being able to do everything to some degree makes it more versatile.

Wow, what have the forums come to. So much ******ed replies here it gives my pet bunny kidney stones.
In answer to the op..many T3 subsystems are kind of useless in current form so we'd have to wait for ccp to rebalance them.

In a true minmatar tradition I suggest adding split weapons systems for all T3 ships to make them even more versatile.

The strategic cruisers should be able to do anything with proper setup, but not everything with any setup. The point of them is that they're a surprise: you should be able to startle your opponent by plugging them into any role. A Proteus shouldn't be as good as a dedicated Ishtar or Oneiros (for example), but it also shouldn't suck in either role.

I think that's exactly the point.
If there were a dedicated logistic subsystem then it'd be easy to nasty things to its slots and hardpoints to stop people from being able to fit a lot of rep and a lot of damage.
I think the whole idea of configurable ships is pretty much lost when people only really configure them to be hyper-recons.
I'd love to see the option of using t3 as a covert-cloak semi-logistic ship. Less rep power and range, but able to appear where their needed. Or a logistics ship that can take a bit of a beating itself. These are the sorts of the thing that it strike me t3 was designed for, and yet the options just aren't there.

This. The whole problem with t3 cruisers is imo they gave them covert ops cloak and interdiction nullifier subsystems.

You guys are starting to drift way off topic now.
I think the OP has a point, the 'logistics' subsystem suffer alot from what can be called "the Pilgrim issue".
Having an amount bonus instead of a range bonus to a system that would be far better with just the range.
Even more so than the Pilgrim itself in fact, considering how remoting other cruiser-sized ships is far more prone to distance.
I'd definately like to see the transfer bonuses changed to a range-bonus. That would make for some exciting roles for Tech III.
(as a side note: i used to think the Pilgrim deserved a range bonus to it's capwar, i don't anymore though with recent Recon changes and looking at how powerful the Curse is in the current setting).

I have seen a tech III tengu dish out some sick dps. I was in a myrmidon and takeing on like 1800 dps. He was also a cap pilot but still. Strangely high for a tech III ship.

Wow, you could be all 5s, all dmg fitting and implants/hardwiring and not get near 1,800 dps... might wanna check that again...
