hmm, now what do you think might happen with it as soon as it opens? One big alliance attempting to control it as well as their own space? or a whole new alliance forming over night? Just a small topic for discusion really, no *****ing, ranting or flaming here :)

CA will definitely be in the fight for it. Whoever controls it, though, is going to be immensely powerful if other players are drawn into the alliance to have access.

btw I'd hate running into jovian sentry guns, so I dunno if anybody will actually claim the space :)

Jove space will be the most powerful place to own. if you think about it Jove equipment will be sold there and no where else. If one group was to take control it would make that one group more powerful than anyone else. Once someone have Jove space I personally donĘt think they would be removed easily at all.
This brings up the problem then for CCP which would limit the high end tech to one group of people. I donĘt think this is really an option. However if it does then...
I think that once the call goes out that Jove space is opening all wars will stop. Corps will start to stockpile, ships weapons, mass recruitment drives. Getting ready for what will be one of the biggest campaigns ever. Would be interesting to see what groups change and merge to try and take Jove space.
As stated before Jove space will not open for a years. If you work it out, Jove basic tech is level 5 and in 16 months we are still only getting Tec 2 in the game. Give it 3-4 years to get to tech 5. Also Jump drives will not be in game until Jove is open me thinks, as I doubt there is any coded limit to where the jump drives can go which is why I believe they have not been added already.
Or maybe, to use Jove tech maybe you will have to start a new Jove char? I am sure when eve started someone stated that Jove is a playable race but you must complete a certain criteria (please donĘt let it be skill points)
Just my personal views

tbh honest i dont think it will ever be open. i think its where ccp test stuff on tq which if you look at the short stories and stuff the jove are like ccp and give us all this coool stuff. plus there is a system if you zoom in on the map called polaris which sorta backs this theory
what i wonder tho is when the the big clump of 0.0 space on the right of the map will be opened up, to help shiva possibily i dont no ---------------------------------

My bet is you will be able to trade jove agent's loyalty points to become jovian. Which would give you some advantage.. probably with attributes...

well from the background joves are genetically altered to the point where they cant really be called human anymore so perhaps you can get these genetic alterations applied to your clone in return for a pledge of alligence to the jove empire. "Death Before Dishonor" |

I dont think an alliance can own Jove space. When it opens i reckon it will be like empire space with jumpgates directly to one or more of the other empires. Atleast thats what i hope it will be like. Dont like the idea that some alliance can cut of the route to jove space for everybody else.
