Edited by: ****take on 20/10/2004 10:50:17 For God's sake, give the devs a break.
I know you want everything right now and perfect but they have families and real lives like we do . . it's not that big of problem doing without the charactersheet thingy as they are speending their time gettign Shiva ready.
Stop whining and get in-game and do something other than complaining about things which are minor inconveniences in the grand scheme.

They say they did it to speed up the forums. My question is, Why on earth are the forums even hosted on anything connected to the game servers? I mean vbb puts out great forums, very fast, plenty of options and If I say so myself about 40 billion X's better then the forums we currently have.
Oh thats right I forgot the eve forums are connected to the game servers so that the forums go down when theres a patch day or otehr game server trouble. This way it prevents folks from posting , why cant i get in the server.....

I think the reason the forums are set up like this is so they can be linked to the game in the ways where characters, corps, races etc. can be obtained and displayed on the forums as wanted (important in roleplay, important in making sure only people with accounts can post and useful in other circumstances to see who is who)
Sometimes the forums are sluggish at times, and when they go down due to extended downtime is annoying, but there are other sites that can be gone to during that time, and the performance is normally tolerable, even if not as fast as would be liked.

don't they have seperate game devs and web server/forum type people? or do the Dev's do everything. I'm sure it would be possible to have two groups of people doing two different jobs simultainously. maybe.
