Rather than be all negative about the apparent changes to MWD's (erm changes? ok- nerfs)- I recommend a new module and skill be added to the all you can eat meal of burgers or burgers at a market window near you:
Self Destruct 1 (high slot - no offence necessary) Skill at killing your own ship mid battle to avoid the enemy getting a kill shot. This means your enemy wont get kill mail, and your alliance can continue to deny that they are losing a war. With this skill- you dont need to worry about being slow, or being killed by an interceptor in your battleship! Save face- with skill! Imagine in corp "Man- I killed myself so fast he never knew what hit me"- you'll be the envy of all your corpmates!
Associated skill: Insurance Reclamation With each level, 5% bonus to the speed of self destruction of ship, and 5% bonus to pod warping speed to safe spot.
You could add a tech 2 version for people who have way too much money.
I think this is a great idea ;)

You're kidding, but that might actually be good idea.
Self destruct module: converts most of the ships mass to energy and generates an effect similar to a very big smartbomb. Bigger the ship, bigger the boom.
It should, of course, destroy your pod as well (hey, you want to be a martyr, right?)

Self destruct was instant once (I think so at least but I never selfdestructed). The problem is this, picture a pirate that has caught his prey and now decides to break it to take a peek at the candy inside. Well they annoying git selfdestructs destroying all modules and cargo. The dev's as I recall regarded this as kind of an exploit and no matter what feel about pirating the devs have always stated that they wanted it in some form in the game. So then came the timer on selfdestruct.
And who would use this module anyway. It is only helpful when you are losing your ship and who plans on losing their ship it's as silly as fitting a warp core stabilizer or insure your ship. __________ Capacitor research |

He was joking Dust Puppy.
Although I would fit an instant self distruct if it meant destroying all my items and cargo. I'm sure a lot of people would. But since CCP are pirate sympathisers, we will never ever see it. ------------

I know he was, the bit about bragging to your buddies about how fast you self destructed was a dead givaway
Still I wanted to point out why there you can't selfdestruct instantly and quite frankly I agree with it. __________ Capacitor research |

I do infact think having a modual of this kind could bring something new to the game. There would ofcause have to be some kind of timer, say 10-20 seconds, maybe even 30.
This modual would act like a massive smart bomb of great power based on the mass of the ship. Sending a shock wave. Would make intresting tactics to fly in a tanked up ship everyone protect it then warp out right before it blows
The limits of it would be that the power usage would me massive, draining large amounts of power to cause the reaction that would be needed to do the damage to make it worth it. Also unlike smart bomb it would damage everything in its path, so friends will have to leave before it goes bang.
Maybe even everyone gets a warning once the reaction is started. "There is a large build up of energy in the area"
I dont think this idea should be dismissed so easily. --------------------------------- -------------------------- Lost in a world created by ones mind is the sign of madness but also of happyness. Would not everyone want to live in a world were they h |

I like idea also. Especially take that some news items in content are about some NPC doing just this kind of thing. Agree with high power req. this will keep it off ships that are PvPing and just dont want to give the satisfaction of a kill to their opponents and instead would take them down - unless the premeditated it.
Yeah more i think about it, this kind of module could really put some spice in things. Imagine what it would do to gate campers sitting on the gate. LOL, bet tht would stop, just send junk bs into say HED whilst its under guard and poof bye bye campers.
Or in empire roleplay corps charging unsuspecting nmies. The timer delay could be worked in so that when you initiate the module a power surge warning is broadcast to sentry guns and police forces - if you can outlast the defense then boom. Would also work same way for conquerable stations and POS, but probably not cost effective.
Good idea yall have

Ohh, that or
Log-Off Specialization skill.
Shortens the period your ship remains in space after the log-off by 20% per skill level. (at lvl.5 the log off is instant)

Well if 'energy release' is proportional to mass of ship...
You could wipe out a gate camp with a handful of badgers or badger2's Powergrid usage would therefore need to be immense... maybe a cruiser could fit it with some RCUs ... and no one is gunna build a battleship just to blow it up.
/me pictures 10 badgers loaded with torps jumping through a gate ... much to the momentary delight, followed by mass dismay and "WARP OUTTTTT" cries from the blockade. Mwahaha.
><))))¦> This is fishy .. You know what to do. |

Minmatar kamikaze ships in fleets taking out apocs, mmmm I like the idea...
It would actually be a very good idea. Add some depth at the "I'm desperate" aspect of the game (like corps full of newbies being harassed systematically by idle gankcorps)
