When i say help, i say that in a very loose way. To be honest i still dont fully understand it, yet with that i feel overwhelmed with the interest to learn. I have a limited experience using Java, thus that is the language i'd like to use. Anyways a few things i would like to learn about this topic at hand.
- How does the program fetch API
- What variables are required for API retrieval
tbh consider this thread the how the hell do u do anything with API thread. even if someone could paste a bit of code such as retrieving toon names and showing them on a JOptionPane that would be helpful.
thx in advance

My suggestion is to contact any team of devs that have a simple tools created for EVE Online and ask them for a sniplet. EFT & Eve-Mon are examples. Most of the devs who started or maintain them projects would have no issue with sharing simple code for API retrieval.

I'd add to the comments above by saying to look at some of the other existing code in the several open source libraries out there and not only the Java ones as much of the code from PHP can be adapted with a little work since the Java and it both have similar syntax coming from the underlaying C and C++ they are programmed in. Even python code would probably be worth looking at too (I don't know python myself but can often understand much of the code) -- Finds camping stations from the inside much easier. @niroshido You need to look at: Eve Dev - It's the main resource...
eveapi is a library that will get the api data for you. I use eveapi in jEveAssets (take a look at the source of jEveAssets, to get an idea about how it works)
if you're new at java, take a look at: this, I use it as reference all the time.. _________________ Download is the meaning of life, upload is the meaning of intelligent life EVE.NiKR.NET - home of jEveAssets |

More source available on sourceforge... this project appears abandoned, but the code looks clean.

You may also consider libraries, like JQuery -- http://jquery.com/ -- which may help with the AJAX web service calls and object creation vOv
