...that allows players to experiment with loadouts, customization, market exchanges,...
...and EVE players get?
Nothing so cool.
Where is our EVE Gate fitting tools? Where is our EVE Gate Market Watch?
Hello CCP...this is an EVE player. When do we get apps made by you for our game that is accessible via EVE Gate and browser based? |

If you could do all that stuff without logging in.....well, people wouldn't log in anymore. How does that make a game look when it has like 1k players online ? :D |

There is no fitting tool in EVE for you to experiment with? Only 3rd party apps, and who knows what kind of crap they load onto your comp or what else they do besides what they are intended to do. Also, there is no market watch in game really. Not unless you mean signing in alts you have strategically placed around trade hubs.
Also, why is it OK for DUST514 players and not EVE players? |

Dust players are gonna be a bunch of ps3 casuals.....and its a f2p game. I really doubt people would pay for subscription for a browser game if they didn't need to log onto eve to do "stuff".
EFT and evehq are fine, whats the problem ? You've been playing eve too much, you are so paranoid. |

They are working on that. It required reworking the entire api system. There is a keynote they did at fanfest which had a whole section about api that could interact with eve. |

What's worng with the numerous and excellent player-made tools?
Posting on this character because apparently some people get upset when they're asked difficult questions. M. |

Plus, CCP publishing stuff like that is pretty much confirming that Dust will not have a comprehensive 3rd party developer API like Eve does. See again: intended for a different audience. Exactly, while many of us do own console gaming systems... APIs and such as complex things, A console gamer will want something simple, something they can use their game login or PSN name and get all the data.
Not calling console gamers dumb, but they will have a higher desire for things functional out of the box including side apps rather than where we use something like say EVE-Mon as a gold standard for that kind of tool. |

Meanwhile, we have EFT and EVEMon GÇö far better programs than what CCP will produce GÇö and as they keep opening up CREST, we'll get access to more and more functionality. GÇ£If you're not willing to fight for what you have in GëívGëí you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.GÇ¥

Check out the article in EON about Carbon REST. "we're going to bring more of EVE outside of the client; more data and more fully connected game features on our websites. The second thing we're going to do is give it to third party developers."
CCP is planning on having the new API go beyond just Dust, and they have always toyed around with a phone app for EVE. It would be nice to queue skills up and check on buy/sell orders on the Vita. |

Yeah...
Can't do fps with a mouse and keyboard anymore. I'll be playing dust though. Vita looks interesting, I may actually get one for mobile gaming. Can't really get into playing games on my iPhone or iPad. |
