Razer Naga. Nothing beats it. Period. Perfect for any MMO including EVE and excellent for any FPS game. 12 buttons on the thumb side of the mouse that copy the 1-= on the top of your keyboard or the keypad itself. Your choice...flip a switch to change the option. Removes the need to move your fingers off of the wasd keys in FPS games and other MMO's. Can be used to set all your ship equipment to an easy thumb button for activation and deactivation.
Again...Razer Naga. Nothing beats it. Period. EvE is not about PvP.-á EvE is about the SANDBOX! |

Some of these older mice people have may not be available anymore. I have 13 PC's here with mice running everywhere. My favorites are Razer Mice and one Logitech the G9. I have both a G9 and a Razer Naga on my main gaming rig and which one I use depends on what I am playing... |

I went through a lot of mice, and all of t hem have their problems.
Logitech mice are quite nice, I had two MX Revolution ones (with a thumb wheel), and I really liked it. But the problem is, it lives precisely for one year, give or take. The first one, the LMB stopped working within 10 months of purchase, I still had a receipt and got a warranty replacement. In about 11 months that one too began to double-click with LMB and RMB sometimes wouldn't register a click. With a price tag of about $80 at the time, it was pricey for just one year of use.Though I really liked the size and the ergonomics of that one.
Currently using Razer Naga, and so far it's holding, though the past year has been relatively light gaming-wise for me. But even so, the laser on that thing gets dirty, and since it is recessed deep into the body it's a pain to clean, virtually impossible to clean well. And like on Logitech, the screws holding the mouse together are covered up by the slide pads on the bottom of the mouse, which makes disassembly and cleaning impossible. Not so much because it breaks the warranty, but because the pads often get damaged when peeling them, and reattaching them is a pain afterwards. I do like the thumb buttons, though using anything beyond 1-6 is difficult, my thumb doesn't move that far back.
And the oldest mouse I had was some no-name piece of junk. I don't even remember where or why I got it. It was really simple laser mouse with screws open so I could take it apart and clean it every year or so. No problems. That thing must be 6-8 years old by now and still works like a charm. |

I'm thinking about getting a new mouse soonish. I have a logitech G5, and other high end logitech mice before that, always have been perfectly satisfied. Logitech's may not always be advertised as "gaming mice", but logitech has been at the top pretty much since mice came into use. My first mouse was a squarish 3 button logitech ball mouse, which worked very well at the time (for a ball mouse).
That said the RAT7 looks intriguing. I don't think I'd consider razor personally. |

Logitech Performance MX cause it's wireless, works on any surface and you can grip it between your thump and pinki for fast movment.
Have had a Razor Mamba that broke and a zowie that i thought was too light, big and "plastic".
I'll probably have the MX until the rechargable batteries quit, which will take a while. |

Logitech G700.
Buttons aplenty, freescroll feature. Wired or wireless, good software functionality, and not Razor.
Have also used in the past-
Sharkoon Fireglider - Good quality mouse for the price. software had a few quirks, but nothing that reduced the functionality of the mouse.
Coolermaster CM Storm Inferno - Another decent mouse for the price, some stranger placements for buttons and a really gimicky button on the side that I could never find a way to use decently. Solid middle mousewheel button though. Resident Haruhiist since December 2008. /OOPE/ Bittervet since 2006.
I lay my claim upon Out of Pod Experience, plain and simple. |

At home - MX518 (x 2 - second is kept with notebook). Both are 5+ years old and still look relatively new. It's successor appears to be the G400 (which, amusingly, is less flashy than the MX518 is).
At work - Trackman Wheel (the old wired one). It's a *lot* more beat up (the wheel is starting to go) since I used it constantly for coding and other stuff. Thankfully I bought two when I did the original purchase, so will grab the second out of storage soon.
Anyone have experience with the wireless M570? These are still being sold, and look interesting, but I've always been skeptical of wireless response times and accuracy.
My roommate swears by his Razer, enough so that he got the white business-style one for work (which did work with a Sun SPARC desktop btw). I may have come here from Myst Online, but that does not make me any less bloodthirsty than the average Eve player.
Just more subtle.

I love my Logitech MX Revolution.
It's wireless but the battery lasts quite a long time with heavy use AND it has a charging cradle. Just dock it overnight when the battery gets low and you're fine. It's time to put an end to CCP's war on piracy. Fight your own battles and stop asking CCP to do it for you. |

Katja Norolyev wrote:BE WARNED, especially if you're not the OP and are thinking of giving the Kensington Expert Mouse a try with no prior trackball experience; trackballs take getting used to after years on a mouse; DOUBLY so for this one with its unusually large ball. Don't give up on it because you toyed with it for 5 minutes and didn't like the feel.
I looked at this, and just don't like trackballs in that format (central position, radial buttons). How do you deal with that, as opposed to the thumb format? My general migration from trackballs back to mice started with Diablo, when I realized having a 'left click' on the thumb was not going to work for me (I had an older, wired version of this at the time). I may have come here from Myst Online, but that does not make me any less bloodthirsty than the average Eve player.

That said the RAT7 looks intriguing. I don't think I'd consider razor personally. I got a RAT7 half a year ago, i-¦m fully satisfied by it. It is (after half an hour trying different setups) in fact the most comfortable mouse i ever had and also fast, accurate and with all functionality i could ever wish for. No problems with quality issues or anything like that as well, so it is certainly recommendable. Though i certainly wouldn-¦t look down on logitech, i had it before, use it currently on my laptop and had no problems with it either. "You either need less science fiction or more medication."

I love my Razer Mamba. If it were legal I would marry and do such unspeakable things to it so against the law of god mothers would shield the eyes of their children and husbands.
I would get it a higher capacity battery
