Prices seem to be gone up a whole bunch.l I mean in January Dominix's used to be around 50 mil. Trit was at 3.14. What caused everything's price to go up? |

Go kill some drones, tell us what you loot. (Answer: Nothing, just bounty.)
Go mining for a bit, let us know if you fare. (Answer: Hulkageddon is perpetual.)
How do you get your minerals now? |

Drone regions used to drop alloys, which was basically a fountain of harvestable minerals; combined with other drops that were refined for their minerals, this was known as "gunmining". CCP has more or less removed gunmining from the game (someone who really knows the story can verify if there are any sources of gunmining left), thereby driving down the overall supply of minerals and, hence, driving up the long term price. There is the added factor of speculation, however, where people bought up massive stocks of minerals, but these are already being brought back to the market leading to a recent decrease in the general price.
If I've understood the latest blog correctly, prices will actually going down now after the speculative peak, though still to an ultimately higher general price level than at the point in time you are referencing.
That's the general gist of it; if I've missed anything, I'm sure someone will happily correct me. |

I'm not being nasty, I'm merely stating that he probably has no idea the extent to which drone materials were part of the economy. |

SetrakDark wrote:http://community.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&nbid=72833 Hmm, the dip coinciding with the inferno release is interesting. Are that high a percentage of miners really bots, messed up by the UI changes, or was there something annoying for miners included in the inferno release that I missed?
And its odd, looking at that graph mining doesn't seem to have increased significantly since the drone regions nerf. There was a short rise in popularity, but we seem to be mining about the same amount now as we were in late January.
What happened to the big boom in mining that supposedly occured?

Also it should be noted that non drone NPCs use to drop a lot of meta 0 (basic tech I) modules. A lot of mission runners would loot their missions, then sell the result (or break it down), and people would buy the modules cheaper modules to break down. This was an important source of rarer minerals and somewhat trit. The higher meta modules tend to break down for less, and are more valuable as modules than minerals. |

It was a 1 gig patch if i remember. That takes some time. If you come home and want to play you'll be patching instead (depending on your connection).
I think back in january they wern't going after bots. Now they are. So there may well have been an increase in player mining but the bans could be covering it up.
Or i could be clueless, always an option. |

I heard that at around half minerals on market came from *gun-mining* but CCP nerfed that quite a bit ago, second thing I heard the miner-bots were dealt with...though not 100% sure this needs confirmation |
