I'd like to compare two or more items. What's the best way to do that? Can I have multiple information windows open, or is there a keyboard shortcut to skip to the next or previous information window?
I've used the next and previous buttons in the information window, but keyboard shortcuts would be much better, or having multiple item windows open. |

Shift + click opens in separate windows. So you can move them next to each other and compare.
Or if it is the same module with different meta level's you can open the Variations tab and on the bottom there is a compare button.
[rant] Really, I hate to say this, but this kind of stuff is easily found out in EVE by trying stuff out yourself. Not that it isn't a valid question, but lately EVE seems to be invaded by lazy people. [/rant] Inject your skillbook before you leave the station. Thanks for the tip. I understand your frustration. In my case I really did search the forums and try many different key combinations before posting the question. |

Yeah, no problem.

Maybe time to take a break from NCQ&A, J'Poll? It's not a job. |

I popped into the help channel earlier to ask a quick question and J'Poll was the first to answer in there as well :o

There are also a compare tool. Go to the "Variations" tab and click the "Compare" button. If you want to compare items that are not part of the same group you can just drag them into the compare tool to add them "Memories are meant to fade. They're designed that way for a reason." |

You can also click the compare button with the compare window already opened and they will be added. |

Shift-click is not intuitive, and the default should be multi-windowed. The first thing I do every time I have to reinstall eve is kill shift-click .
Also, not all similar modules compare automatically. Such as hardeners and energized plating. It has to be done manually, and when it doesn't auto populate, most players will assume it won't work at all. There are two kinds of player. -áThe kind that adapts to the game, and the kind that expect the game to adapt to them. -áDo don't a number 2 on EvE. -áThank you. |

You learn about shift-click if you bother to go through options window (ESC). Whenever I get new game, I allways check what options there are to customize it.

I think by default the game will open them in the same window but in different tabs.
Either way, I find simply opening one item over the other and then using the forward-backward buttons much more useful because the infobox window position is shared. So if I want to find a certain value on both items I only need to scroll on one, then press forward/backward and it will be scrolled to the same position on the others as well. |
