I was wondering if you had to be part of a corporation to drop a pos. If you are part of a corporation and your standing is high enough but the corporation isnt high enough can you still deploy a pos?
I guess what I'm asking are can you drop a pos for yourself even though your part of a corporation that doesnt have enough standing but you do??

Yes, a POS is a corp-owned structure. It must be deployed for the corp by a corp member with the appropriate roles. Once deployed, anyone with the proper roles has access to the POS.
If you want to deploy it in highsec (0.4 to 0.7), the player corp must have the appropriate standings; the individual player's standings don't matter other than to influence the corp's standings. What you can do to "remedy" this is kick everyone out that doesn't have a high enough faction standing, wait one downtime for the corp's standings to change, anchor the tower, then reinvite everyone back into the corp. ---

Besides skills and such, what are ways to get your standing up with a certain faction? is it only missions?

Storyline missions are the primary way to increase faction standing. Additionally, you can do COSMOS missions and Data Center missions to increase your faction standing. It should also be noted that it's the *unmodified* standing of the players in a corp that's averaged to calculate the corp's standings. ---

That's only for adding people, if you kick a person from a corp, their contributions to standings are removed at the next downtime.

I have a quick question -
Where do you check your Corp standing towards a HiSec faction?
I could not seem to find it in the Corp window.

Undock, right click your ship, click show info CLick the picture of the pilot (yourself) Click the picture of your corp icon. Check the standings tab.
That's the only way I have ever been able to look at them.
If someone knows an easier way, I'd love to hear it. --Vel

You could just open the character sheet, go to employment history, and hit the info button next to your most recent corp.
You can open your ship hanger and right click your currently active ship and hit show info. Then click your pic, and then hit the corp.
You can check it if you have the roles via the corp tab, but those are notorious for not showing changes for awhile as sometimes the cache takes forever to update... ____________________________________________ When going to a party with wine, women, and song. Right click someone in your corp chat, Show Info. Click the big corp icon. Standings tab.

Thank you for all the replies.
I have now found it in the Corporation tab in-station.
Under the 'Politics' tab is a 'Standings' sub-tab.
