Edited by: Michwich on 16/10/2009 04:54:52 I tried mining, ratting, missioning, exploration, pvp, trading and finally got around to manufacturing something.
Pretty much have done it all I think and only with around 7million xp.
Boredom has set in now and theres nothing else to do but grind isk or wait for new skills to train. But I dont need anymore isk and new skills take too long and dont do anything to be worth waiting around for
And yes you can have my stuff, if I ever get around to logging in to give it to you.
Ill probably be back next summer when I get bored of multiplayer skill based pvp games, until then. Bye, and loser on my friends, loser on.
Bye.

Impressive, I've been playing since '04 and am still nowhere near "doing it all" - you haven't broke 10m sp and you've done it all already, you must be bored with the game. good luck with quitting

Impressive, you tried the 4-5 "foundation" activities of EVE and COMPLETELY ignored the 99 other percent of the SANDBOX GAME.
Back to WOW, good riddance!

So you were mining while tanking rats in an exploration site and got ganked there, bought a new Osprey, and built a couple of drones so you can fight back next time.
You sir have mastered EVE, well done.

Yes, I hear bunny hopping requires a much higher level of skill. Should keep you busy mastering it for quite some time.

It helps having a plan for the future, when playing Eve-online imo. By looking forward to something you want to do, and not getting burned out on whatever you do at the present moment.
Having said this, I think eve can be a really big grind and I am thinking that maybe it might the biggest grind out of any game beause of the isk and all that, but it's a good grind, akin to life where you do stuff with a purpose nevertheless if only for some money, so it is a good idea to know what you are doing, or if nothing else, simply wanting to know what you are doing.
It is possible ofc to play eve and not have fun at all. Without the social aspect of a mmo game, eve online would be something else im sure.
I installed Neverwinter nights 2 again a day ago, and tried it for a couple of minutes until I decided to uninstall it. The thought and prospect of having to do yet again the same things, was appalling
I played Dungeons & Dragons Online for a day but the game like many other mmo games I guess, doesn't seem to work that much on the "mmo" aspect which I think could potentially be great(er) in a D&D game. I found myself moving around looking for people with a quest marker hovering over their head, just like WOW and whatnot. Should be mentioned that I only had a lvl 2 ranger, and nevertheless I did find it fascinating hearing a prerecorded gamemaster voice with the quests, like when entering a room and whatnot. That one seemed innovative.
Oddly enough, I believe I have never played a D&D game before with a lvl 2 character owning equipment that is worth alot almost from the start of the game, with multiple magical items. Too many magical items for my taste. And btw, I found Age of Conan to rely too much on magic as well, I sort of had hoped for an simple but exciting sword simulator and not a spellcasting- and feat-activation-fest.
Finally, I want to take the opportunity to ask of people to not use the word "endgame" in eve, it is deeply disturbing for me, and you should ask yourself if what you really want, is to relabel Eve-Online into "Just playing a game". While I'm at it, I suggest avoiding the term supercarrier for the motherships as well, as "supercarrier" is an unofficial term for large aircraft carriers in the world today.
Oh, and pace yourself.

The simple answer is you need to find something to feel a part of.
You can be the best solo pvper in the game, and you'll get bored.
You can be the king of the markets, and you'll get bored.
You can be the king of PVE, and you'll get bored.
You need to find something to be a part of. A corp. An alliance. SOME form of group to belong to.
I've been playing for over 3 years. getting close to 4. It's the people that make eve. NOT the game.
