I bought 2 medium core purger ii bpcs this morning and materials required were 3 enhanced ward consoles, 6 logic circuits and 6 power ciruits. Now after downtime the ratio has dropped to 2 enhanced ward consoles, 4 logic ciruits and 4 power circuits. This has only come to light after i have put these in production. Wasting 20m isk on board.
There was no public warning of this modifaction. please be aware of this as CCP have cost us dearly already!!!

Firstly, how does this belong in newbie Q&A
Second, how does your blueprint taking less materials 'cost you'?... you now have more materials for another run, or you can sell the spare parts. --------------------------------------------

(aka I think you did something wrong)
ps: I seriously doubt ccp changed the mat cost in a hotfix on Saturday morning

On checking the materials needed list before production, enhanced ward console = 3, logic circuits = 6 and power circuits = 6. During production however this changed to enhanced ward console = 2, logic circuits = 4 and the same for power circuits, and this was the case on completion of production. So wot happened to the bpcs during production and where is the lost materials.
Yes i do have the skills for mass production and effiency. The lost materials are expensive and my brother has sent a petition in.

Honestly, it sounds like the first numbers are quoted from a BPC with a ME of -4, which sounds right for an invented BPC. Then the second numbers look like you looked at a generic BPC with ME 0, which happens when you look at the info on a blueprint.
What I'm saying is, what you did is you right clicked on the job and immediately went "Show Info", which just gives you the generic stats for that blueprint. If you wanted info on the blueprint you're actually using, you would have to right click, "Blueprint - Show Info". This would show you the blueprint with ME -4 that you're manufacturing from.
So no, the game didn't screw you, you just didn't know how to properly access the information. Cancel the petition to save the GM's a headache. ---

Edited by: ctx2007 on 19/10/2009 14:20:21 I have checked the the bpcs after the contract was accepted and after the manufacturing process, there a difference on both bpcs at the different stages in materials needed. The information is in my contracts history and manufacturing history.
The finished product had less minerials in it too. EVE is a game and a damn good one too |

This is absolutely right. The values of 2, 4 and 4 are for a ME of 0. You can see this on the www.eve.battleclinic.com database if you want. Invention will always create a bpc with a ME of -4, requiring higher resource numbers, unless a decrypter has been used in the invention process which is rather unlikely due to cost. The completed product will always show materials relevant to a ME of 0, e.g. the excess is been 'wasted' in the manafacturing process.
