I am looking to setup a POS in Gallente empire space.
I have already found the system i want to setup in 0.7 space and i am working on my standing, I also have found a moon with out a POS there already.
The main reson I want this POS is to do copying BPO's but i have never setup a POS before and i dont know if I should get a Medium or a Large also i know i am getting a Gallente control tower.
Also I know I want a Ship Maintance Array and a Corp Hanger Array, and Adv. Moblie Labs, other then that I dont know what else I may need to setup to make everything run smoothly.
Please give me your opinion and a setup of what you think that will work for me

just put a small POS with what you want to do inside. if someone war decs you, take down the POS. let war dec pass, put the POS back up. easy as that. |

1. You don't need a ship maintenance array or corp hanger, especially if you are using local stations and corp hangers. If all you are doing is ME and TE research then use a local corp hanger in station in the same system. Copying will require direct lab access though. Each research lab will have its own cargo space for the BPs, so again, no need for the other modules.
2. Ensure your system is not a system people pass through a lot. Either that or ensure your moon is far from gates and stations. Its also a good idea not to use a small as they are easier to bring down and are more of a target, plus you can fit more research labs on a larger POS. Remember these are still limited to how many jobs you can run (6 max per toon I believe)
Additional Notes: If you are in an alliance and are not planning on using your ME and PE slots, its a good idea to rent these out to alliance members as they can do so from in system without any actual POS access. This can ensure you get some help to pay for the POS costs.

Component Array is better than CHA (less power and almost as large). Plus you can build fuel blocks in it.
A small tower needs no defenses, as it cannot be defended, so your best bet is to take it down when wardec'd. A medium is a toss-up; defenses are not that effective, but can be a deterrent. A large should always have defenses.
Beware that Gallente towers are not the best for hisec industry. You are better off with a Caldari (most CPU and shield). However, some people prefer to use local isotopes.
If you are curious, you can read about my POS starting at message #262 in this thread (which is a great thread you should read every message of): http://community.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=817184&page=9#262
Another one worth reading: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=875604 Make sure to use lasers on an Amarr tower, and projectiles on everything else. |

The system I have picked out has an Ice Field of blue ice so I want to go with Gallente so I can make my own fuel block and thanks for the Component Assembly Array point out.
I use to be in a big corp but i took a break from Eve b/c of RL stuff for over a year, so its just me and my alt
I mainly do Mining and I am intrested in doing BPO's mainly copying Capital Components and selling packets on Contract
Would i need any silos for POS Fuel?
What do I need to make Fuel blocks? I know you need ICE and Components from planets but how should i setup everything? |

helperz wrote:Would i need any silos for POS Fuel? No. You can only put certain items in silos, and they are not especially large, making them only useful for reactions.
A standard hisec control tower holds 699 hours of fuel + charters = 29d 3h
helperz wrote:What do I need to make Fuel blocks?
Look at the BPO. * 8 Coolant * 4 Enriched Uranium * 20 Oxygen * 4 Mechanical Parts * 1 Robotics * 150 Heavy Water * 150 Liquid Ozone * 400 Racial isotopes
One run makes 40 blocks = 1 hour for large control tower, 2 hours for medium control tower, 4 hours for small control tower. |

I have tried Setting up the Planet command center and playing with the option but if someone could help me with the setup that would help like:
You need to setup on X number of planets:
Planet 1 needs to be type: XXX need 3 Extractors for: XXX, XXX, XXX need 4 Storage units need 4 Industry Facility
and also how everything connects together |

Tau Cabalander wrote: Nothing to setup. Just put the material in the component array and start manufacturing (from BPO located in corp hangar of station in same system).
I recommend anchoring the component array no more than 5 km from the control tower, so you can take fuel from it an place in tower's fuel bay.
Would making the fuel in a public manufacturing slot and just hauling it to the POS be a viable alternative if you don't want to manufacture within the POS? In the cat-and-mouse game that is low sec, there is no shame in learning to be a better mouse. |

I would start with a small to get the hang of it and then switch it out for a medium when you're up and running. Note that costs of ownership is not zero and small is cheaper to run (!).
My setup looks like this:
1 x Amarr Medium Tower 2 x Advanced Lab 2 x Ordinary Lab 1 x Corporate Hanger 2 x Equipment Assembly Array 1 x Component Assembly Array
The 2 x Advanced and 2 x ordinary labs should give you enough copy/invention/ME/PE slots to max a single character. I added the assembly arrays to build stuff I get from invention. I offline anything I'm not using. The corporate hanger is useful but not necessary if there's an NPC station in system.
Make sure you fill up the strontium in the tower. As others say, if you get wardecced, take the POS down and go and do something else until it passes.

If this is your first POS then I would recommend that you start out with a small control tower.
Setup a small Minmatar tower. It has enough cpu/grid for a few labs, scram, web and a few guns. A scram will force people to commit to attacking your pos and will prolly help people decide that its not worth the hassle. Alternatively you can setup a small Caldari tower with a few labs and then as many ECM battieres as you have grid/cpu for. With a lot of ECM it can be very time consuming to take down your tower and will hopefully convince people that its not worth the effort.

best tactic for hisec POS is to remain low key
try not to present yourself as a juicy target
Also to note, with the new wardec changes, small one man corps now are much more expensive to dec than they used to be My homeboys tried to warn me But that butt you got makes me so horny |

1- always use a npc station or somethingh and research ya bpo from there, also copy from there, bpo wil be safe even if tower goes boom, bpc from copy will endup in the labs at ya tower, when aditional materials are needed for research then ya need to place that in the lab
2- at max skils ya can runn 11jobs a char
when ya gona do alot researchstuff and gooing for a large then ya can go for caldari with large cpu and alot labs onit and remove when wardecced, or put a large minm tower up with guns withabit les labs and have a tower that can deal dmg so scares some ppl off, although ppl stil able to kill it if they want or know what they dooing |

For ME and PE research, you don't need engineering (science) skills for most BPO. |

I have an alt in a corp with 5.66 standing with Gallente Federation and i am trying to set up a POS in 0.7 space I am working on getting his standing up but is there someone who can help me anchor the control tower now so no one steals the moon i have picked out in the mean time. |

Visit the Sell Orders forum and search for people offering standing [SERVICE]. There are several.
It takes 7 days from the time they join your corp. |

yep faster to train a alt unless ya alrdy trained al ya alts or have alts occupied with other stuff
stil max is at 11 and not 6 like the1 i qouted
when ya yust starting its not interesting to spend that much time for 1 more slot |
