An overview for the FC that shows the shiptypes of the fleet
X Battleships X HACs X Logistics X Capitals
and an option to restrict only chosen shiptypes to a fleet, others cant join or will get autokicked.

like listing all a players "Alt" accounts when they are running multiple eve clients? I think this would breach privacy policy. -We So SeXy |

Thx for the explanation, SXYGeek!
So, I guess the word is being use somewhat incorrectly, even given the CS definition you provided from Wikipedia, but it has become accepted usage within the computer professional circles to mean incrementally tweaking the programming to improve it. Now I know.
Words matter, so again, THX!

Just wanted to let you all know that we have a new version of the fleet finder now on Sisi with more bells and whistles. Please do try it out and tell us what you think of it. We will not able to add any new big features but will of course try to find and fix as many bugs with it as we can.

I would if the Mac client was available... Any sort of planned availability for it?

OMGWTFEPICWIN!
To rebuff people that are complaining they can no longer steal because of loot logging...
...it was already there under the auspices of "killmail" and "FC with half a brain".
You could always drop fleet before looting that can...
Suggestions;
Some indicator of where in the fleet structure will attract which leadership bonuses. This will enhance the ability of fleets to self-organise. A teeny four-colour histogram perhaps?
Allowable standing to go to, or below 0.0 enabling you to have an open-door high-sec mining fleet form from people in local you don't hate. Like often happens anyway.

Hey all I have to say is that the broadcasts window should stay as is. Way too much **** cluttering up my screen in fleet ops, I'll be damned if I'm going to keep that bigass fleet window open. Rest looks good though.

I'm thrilled with this feature. Now when we make 60man raids to farm our epic gear picking up a group is going to be much easier now \o/

Because leaving the fleet immediately after a high-value target is popped and expensive mods go missing to avoid the loot tracker wouldn't be at all suspicious, no, definitely not. The question remains, why should the FC have the Eye Of God mode to track loot? He doesn't have a tool to tell him who has a convo open with the enemy FC, why should he get one to tell him who stole the deadspace mods from the last kill?
I'm concerned that the devs have focused so much on whether they could put this tool in that they never stopped to think about whether they should put it in.

I just don't see why the hell we need world of warcraft type features anyways. This combined with the skill lowering on things like overheating etc is a joke.
Losing your identity CCP.
2010 patch : CCP make T2 ships fully insurable and u can buy your SP back from a spirit master.

Because having functionality similar to another game means EVE has become that game?
I guess we should do away with chat windows WoW has them too. Oh and graphics WoW has that as well oh and network connectivity I mean how WoW of them.

Having half a brain myself I can recognise you have a good point. Hopefully admitting such will display that I possess the other half too.
Perhaps the loot tracker could be dependent on hitting the wreck with a cargo scanner? Especially since the functionality will be providing a partial nerf to those modules.
Having come back to this thread I am now of the opinion that should CCP provide these tracking tools, they should also provide ways of defeating them.
One DEV interviewed on Warpdrive Active Podcast said that EvE is about "shooting people in the face". So perhaps a race for the FC to get a trusted wingman to Cargo Scan the wreck and start the loot tracker vs the newly joined tackler from an untrusted alliance trying to pick the corpse clean before the scanner lands?
Trust is the most valuable commodity in EvE, I agree that the Devs should not be providing tools that nerf its value.
Just a thought.

Edited by: Glory Blaze on 27/11/2009 21:49:56 You pirate people think its all about you don't you . The Loot Logger will defiantly see use for us mission runners that go for Level 5s (now that those are being moved exclusively to low sec). It is also a boon to the 'pick-up' fleet system to avoid disputes among unaffiliated groups again running missions or wormhole ops together. Sometimes we have other things to track, like combat and watching for you cycloptic malefactors. Getting the system to track and log the loot (and what ship got it) will speed up our turn around when splitting shares, and what we lost (in the holds of the ships you take out) to you when you ambush us on the way out.
So I guess to fill your jolly roger flapping egos it does help you. As it helps us, which means we're out there more often for you to intercept.
The spread sheet exporter is most key there as for some of folks I know it can go right into our refine or sell calculator.

I don't mean to go completely off topic, but as I recall Fleet Formations were mentioned at the fan fest 09 meet. What happened to them? Will we ever have the ability to form fleets in mass formation as shown in countless EvE promotional videos? ----------------------------- Oh HAI |

the fleet finder is a stupid idea!
Its far too easy to make an alt spy anyway and now your alt spy ca see exactly where your corp / alliance's fleets are!
Way to go you have totally overidden the stealth and tactics that you continually try to add to eve without much success, back to the blobfest it is!

I am thrilled with the changes made to fleets, makes life much easier. I haven't seen free-move mentioned but it is definitely nice not having to move people around.
Fleet logging is great for me, I typically will accumulate all the loot and divy up it's value to my fleetmates.
However, I've noticed that if I loot an item, jetcan it, and pick it back up, the log will register twice.
This also will reduce the effectiveness of tracking miner operations. Shuffling ore from jet cans to cargo and vice versa happens frequently, and will provide erroneous information.
Maybe there's a solution I'm missing but as to date I'm not sure how to handle it.
The possible fixes, if this is a common problem, might be:
- Customizeable logging (eg. Looting from fleetmates jetcans, logging trades between fleetmates, etc.)
- Adding another colum specifying where the loot came from (eg. From: Wreck To: Valkyrs, From Valkyrs, To: Jet Can ...)
- Show negative values when loot is jetcanned, keeping it a zero-sum system (eg. Valkyrs: 5 EMP M, Valkyrs: -5 EMP M, Valkyrs: 5 EMP L)
Just some recommendations, to make it more useful :)
