Only woman and Richard Hammond name their cars.

It never occured to me to actually name a car. If I had to choose one, I would probably go with something like BFG9000.

Calling someone human because they are human is not naming that individual. Now lets all apply that to cars, and what do we have? Only woman and Richard Hammond name their cars!
Now lets all get out of here before someone Jessies up and actually gives their car a name!

Fine I'll pony up. The bronco 2 was 'YOU ****ING PIECE OF ****!'. The Jeep was the jeep. The pickup was mudpuppy because as a real truck owner my truck was always covered in mud. Then the Dodge V10 was known as the beast, but now its known as dead.
I haven't named the Land Rover yet.

My MR2 is "Blue Meanie", my smart car is "Psycho-Sprout"
I have a wierd thing for computer and ship names in Eve too: Dominix called "The Mountain Called Monkey" Tempests called "Soft Insanity" and "Mighty Wurlitzer" My current comp is called "Jun" (from Rozen Maiden), my old laptop was called "Jaffacakes" and so on. I just have to think long and hard to give something a strange name...

I think naming cars, and possibly genitalia, is a very american thing. There it seems to be the norm, but the thought simply doesn't occur to anyone here. My car is simply "my car" or "my Volvo C30" if I want to be precise One of my ex-es, a cute american gal, named her car "Percy". -------------

It possibly is. Although the naming of ships and referring to them as in the feminine sense has always been a tradition. Cars and body parts are a no no (for men at least!)

My Mk3 Astra is called "Ketchup". It's red.
In my defence, it's only called that because it used to belong to my mum and she named it. Personally, I'd have called it Erik as in Erik The Red. ____________________

In the naval tradition of referring to ships as "she" or "her", I usually jokingly refer to my car in that matter (Her name is Betty).

My first vehicle was a 1978 F-150. It picked up the name "The Tank" in my home town. It was the largest non-modified mud truck in my home town.
The others
1988 - Toyota 4-Runner - "The Toy" or "My Toy" 1999 - JEEP Cherokee - "The Jeep" or "My Jeep" 2009 - Jetta - "A Jetta"
At specific times there were both called "Come on Baby" and "You Piece of Sh*te"

You mean it hasn't turned pink yet?
I can't say on here what my Mk3 astra is being called at the moment, it's broken and I'm not feeling very happy with it.

I name my motorbikes.
Thus far they've all been called "Why won't you start you piece of Japanese ****?", but I'm thinking about buying a Triumph to sit motionless on the drive next summer for a change. ___________________________________________________ The game will never be over, because we're keeping the meme alive. |

Now that was a good joke. Would have been better if it was a broken down piece of trash that couldn't get you anywhere though. _____________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008
