... what do you play?
I'm a big fan of flight-sims - specifically games like IL:2. I've been known to dabble with Silent Hunter 3, and love Rome: Total War.
I'm not a big fan of console games. I did buy an Xbox360, but have found the games, while great lookers, to be largely repetitive and lacking in depth and interesting replayability to any great extent.
I'm also hanging out for the reported free re-release of Mechwarrior 4 I saw on Slashdot... though I've yet to see confirmation of it's arrival.
Anyone else?

Currently replaying the whole baldur's gate 1+expansion+BG2+expansion package from start to finish. They were good games when they were first released and fans have been improving them over the years, so they have aged very well indeed. Not to mention playing the same character through hundreds of hours of RPG goodness is just something you can't get from many games these days.
I do this with a new personality and build every year and I still find a thing or two I missed or forgot from previous playthroughs. The builds I use also have clearly different gameplay styles, so the experience is never too repetative.

I don't get much time for gaming like I used to but I have been playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, the on-line gameplay on that has become very addictive for me. Last night a bunch of us were playing on Rock Band - The Beetles, was a laugh.
Just on installing Fallen Earth as I write this post, it looks like Fallout 3 from what I have read about it with one main difference, it's on-line. Labelled as an MMORPG / MMOFPS. Only issue I have is that it seems to need a high spec system to run on. ------

What was it like? How many hours approx. for the main story would you say? I recall giving it a go, but never really got grabbed by the game. Admittedly I didn't really try too hard to learn the system but think I gave it a couple of hours at least before moving on. Worth trying again? Fantastic! What class are you playing now? What mods/add-ons are you using? What stage are you at now, and you following a romance plot? Who's in your party?
Currently playing Borderlands on the 360. Had a go with MP on XBL and it's so much more fun. However, I just this minute got this in an Email: Quote: I am delighted to let you know that your Preorder for Dragon Age: Origins GAME Exclusive Collector's Edition is now being processed subject to successful payment being taken from your credit card when it is dispatched. The order will be despatched by your chosen delivery method in time to reach you for the day of release.
I know what I'll be doing Nov. 3rd -------------

When I'm not playing EVE I like to play Railworks.
I just started playing Borderlands can't say I'm particularly impressed as yet but I'm not particularly disappointed either so I guess I'll learn more as I play more.

It doesn't really get good until you find a shotgun which launches rockets using shotgun shells.
Seriously.
But yeah i started playing borderlands. I'm enjoying it so far (Mainly cause Mordecai fits my playstyle to a T) _____________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008

I honestly can't remember what mods I have currently installed. The one thing I'm absolutely sure is BG TUTU. It allows you to play Baldurs Gate off the Baldurs Gate 2 engine. Then there are a ton of changes and additions by the gibberlings three modding community. Not sure about others.
I have two games going. In the first I'm playing with a full party. Party is me, Alora, Jaheira, Khalid, Kivan and Branwen. I'm playing a ranger with the archer kit. Still in the BG 1 in the bandit camps, so no romances yet. Going for a lesbian romance with Aerie in BG2. Not sure how making her pregnant is going to make sense, but it might be better not to think about it too much.
The second game is a solo druid with the shapeshifter kit and he just started the throne of bhaal expansion. The vanilla shapeshifter is so **** poor, that I have some kind of shapeshifter mod installed. Not a strong mod, but it makes sure the stronger opponents aren't all immune to your damage while you are shapeshifted.

Randomly hopping into Lineage 2 to show face, and not get kicked from clan for inactivity.
Otherwise still perfecting my Fallout 3 stuff. Done with the main gameplay, and mapquests, and all, but there's always stuff to do, things to find. Have to look up that "50 things" list Through the Aftermath guys talked about in one of their podcast episodes. If someone knows it, linky please, cause I can't find it.
Main thing is Borderlands. It's a nice cross between Diablo 2, and Fallout, but I'm always feeling some Hellgate: London in it. Not the epic fail part, but just generally. As said above it's not overly impressive, but definitely a game to get caught up in.

I don't know how many hours it takes exactly, but if you think of the first part of the story (until you enter the town) as one chapter, then the game has 8-10 such chapters.
The story and atmosphere make it worth playing. However, it sucks as a game. The main story is too linear, and the combat system is terrible and way too randomized. Also, the ending is ... well, see for yourself.

RealLife(tm), eh?
I don't watch a lot of TV (hardly any at all, in fact), and have a pretty damn stressful job. When I'm tired, stressed and it's too late to go out and do something practical, especially if I'm between books, it's nice to relax with a computer game or two.
The trick is not to overdo it. :)

Drakensang, unfortunately, has a terribly bad combat system. I'm not talking about the idea or the calculations, nothing is wrong with those, but the combat animations are incredibly dull by today's standards. I played it for about 10-12 hours and then quit playing.
You can remain under aggro for excruciatingly long even after moving far away. Also everyone hits at the exact same time which looks ridiculous.
Aside from that, it has a nice story and cool environment. Large areas etc.

Ooh, Torchlight looks really good. Thanks for mentioning it.
I got into Mount & Blade after it was mentioned here in a previous gaming thread. This is definitely the place to be for good game tips!
