Ok perhaps I am overlooking something. I am hoping someone here can point me in the correct direction.
I have a petition issue that would seem to be a simple fix. I had a 2 skills in my training queue. the first with less than 24 hours left on it (transports 3) and Amarr Battleship 5 (45ish days) I had to stop playing back in June or july, but have started playing again. As I logged back in I noticed that my transports 3 skill got hung in training and my amarr battleship 5 never started. I opened a petition and the GM tells me I lost 6d9h10m!
Now I admit my math skills could be better, but I am pretty sure that both those skills would have finished within the last 3-4 months.
If I can't get an amicable resolution from this GM, what if any means of escalation are there?

If you stopped paying for your account your skills stopped training then too

But the account was active (Current). One fo the key selling points of the game is that you continue to train even when you are not logged in.
The problem here is that the queue hung, not that the account went inactive. If that were teh case, Amarr Battleship would have been more than half complete before it deactivated.

Did you click on pause training maybe then forget to take it off? Otherwise escalate the petition to a senior GM

Edited by: Areale on 04/11/2009 20:54:54 And ok, I am not unreasonable. But at this point if there were some sort of confusion on my part, that is fine. All GM Renril would need to do is just explain (Clearly) what happened. However at this point, it just sounds like she has trouble with basic math or she doesn't have a predefined reply capable of addressing this.
But to keep this from dragging out, the question would now be 'What if any options are there for customers to escalate support requests they feel are not being properly handled by GMs?"
[Update] Thank you, Making that request for a Senior GM now.

I have to say, it does rather sound like you did not click resume (or whatever it is called) after you added the Battleship skill to your skill que.

I have seen this behaviour before. The first time it happened, I thought the same thing and chalked it up to not paying attention to what I was doing. In this case I am absolutely / verifiably certain it was saved / applied correctly.

OK Issue resolved. I was able to get an answer from GM Renril. Although the final outcome was not in my favor, the response actually addresses the misunderstanding on my part. Intense Thinker was correct in his original reply, and I was mistaken as to how long my account remained active.
Below is the response that outlines what occurred.
[From GM Renril] Hello,
The reason due to the skill not completing was due to ghost training being disabled. On Wednesday, Oct 15th, CCP put out a server update disabling "ghost training".
Ghost Training was an unintended feature where unpaid accounts of EVE Online were able to continue training skills. While this allowed players to run multiple characters on a shoestring budget, in all effect, this was a bug.
As this applies to your situation and your account being disabled on 2009.06.13 at 10:00:00 we can only reimburse skill training that was actually lost.
Best regards, GM Renril The EVE Online Customer Support Team
Although not in my favor, I now understand what happened and how to prevent it in the future.

This is why I do my best to manage my skills mostly out of that stupid skill queue screen.
I've even gone so far as to write down the order of what I want queued on paper and then just right click add to queue. Nothing gets paused then.
I just try to stay out of that screen all together. It's caused people more problems than it's worth as far as I can tell when it can be done just as easier another way. ------------------------------

Just while the topic is here, Does anyone know the buffer period. IE: the amount of time after the account has been suspended that skills will still train for? Thanks |
