Edited by: Dave Strider on 05/11/2009 21:32:54 Hey, thanks for reading, but first off, I haven't got squat for skills yet. I started subscribing a few days ago, and with EVEMon in hand, and not to mention hitting the wall for a non-military type in the Epic Arc, I'm actively seeking for a corp/alliance to join. According to my training plan, I will complete my desired learning skills with all at least basic IV by the 8th, and a Core Competency, Basic Gallente Engineer and Basic Gallente Researcher certificates by the 16th (a day before L4D2. Ouch. :P). In the meanwhile, I'll be checking out corps and maintaining my plan, while playing other games should I remain unemployed.
I might not be very good with a personal statement, so I'll just start with some pointers about my application:
I am GMT, with the University of Caille corp, part of the Gallente Federation alliance, although like everyone who starts out, I wouldn't really consider this to be an actual corp/alliance.
Having an interest in industry, mining, and similar associated career goals, I will generally avoid or just plain flee from all forms of PvP, and high level PvE. I don't support piracy, since most "pirates" are likely to be just idiots who want to shoot everything in sight, regardless of actual profit or benefit to be gained/lossed. This however does not mean I am uninterested in low-sec and null-sec ops and corps; in fact I can barely contain my boredom in Empire space, what with everything being "safe" wrapped in bubble wrap with a fixed NPC economy and security. I'd rather take a gamble with real players watching my back than plain outright miss contact with players other than line of sight. Plus it sounds like a better place to be appreciated for my efforts and to get good pay and fun out of EVE.
About my ability: Well, thanks to a rather brief and, well, crap tutorial that barely covers anything, I would occasionally fail to understand some jargon and gameplay concepts, and I prefer to learn on the job in practical excercises rather than reading large blocks of texts and such, but I explore the HUD often and figured out several things tutorial or not on my own, and I'm willing to learn from anyone who will teach me. I may not know the best way going about building a capital ship from the word "go", but after a few small ops, contracts and brief orders, I'll learn quick.
So, to sum up:
I'm looking for any corp or alliance that has a good variety of activities, but will not ask me to perform piracy, or work solely in "safe" empire space. Preferably I like disciplined, organised and active communities, but don't forget that it's a game okay? :)
I don't have anything special to bring to the table straight away, so you may have to help raise me and my skills first if that sort of thing is okay with you.
I'm on GMT time, and currently in around about Gallente/SOE space.
Leave a message and I'll take a look. Haven't got much to do right now, so I'll be checking frequently.
