I just updated my graphics card from a Geforce 2 MX 400 to a Geforce Fx 5700LE. So, the problem, I can't get the game to go past the splash screen. It just hangs there until it doesn't responed anymore. Has anyone else dealt with this problem? I submitted it to Support but I really want to get in and play today.

Its because of the latest detonator drivers, you need to use an older one, the support link on the menu has a solution for the problem in it somewhere. Basicly use an older driver

Edited by: DREAMWORKS on 04/11/2004 20:41:38 Yeah could be Korath, if he installed new drivers at all. Its possible he didnt removed the old driver properly and it ****s up because of that. Also in some rare occassions a windows installation can become corrupted when swapping a videocard, reinstall can fix lots, reinstall EVE can do miracles too.
-EDIT- update, but atleast remove the driver in safemode. __________________________

Atleast you got some things to take a look at (remove drivers from safemode, install new, old drivers, reinstall EVE.) __________________________

Well I did use the driver cd that came with the card to remove the old drivers, nice that they have that now. The 'no reinstall' was bout EVE. I gotta find the cd to do that. It's somewhere...around here.

Completely un-install drivers in safe mode, reboot into safemode again, try latest official drivers. If that doesnt work, repeat process, and try some beta drivers from downloads.guru3d.com.

Hmmm... I was about to buy a GeForce 6800 GT card, and the 61.77 drivers are the ones which add support for that chipset. Does that mean that the card will not work with EVE?
