Yeah I'm looking forward to going again next year.
There are photos of me and my corpies on the fanfest site - totally blitzed our our faces at the pub crawl.
INCUUUUUUURSIOOOONNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think I'm going to try and go for a few more days this time. I went on the golden circle tour and all that, and we hired a car. But we didn't really get the chance to do much driving around. It'll be different this time though - I fancy driving the full way around Iceland, maybe spending a night or two on the east.
Fanfest is awesome, but I really want to see a bit more of Iceland this time! |

BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZT!
My and my corpies are going to try and get a photo infront of the icelandic ***** museum, but its on the opposite side of iceland to Reykjavik.
Any icelandic devs know if you can catch a local flight there (if so, how much return?) or how long it takes to drive? |

Depends how much money I will save up before then. Anyone from US, CA and that went to Fanfest before... How much does it generally cost and how much you think you'll spend on fanfest? Need a rough estimate, especially on the SPENDING part like booze and souviners. I am sure there will be some other Americans who can pop in and give you some more advice but the best thing you can look at doing now is booking early as flight prices are cheaper the earlier you book them. You can check out Icelandair and Iceland Express to see which is cheaper from your nearest domestic airport. Accommodation can take up quite a bit of your budget but there are quite a few low cost hotels which are popular with EVE players and you should check out the Hotel Cabin for early low rates. The price of alcohol will vary from bar to bar but you can pick up duty free beer and spirits when you arrive in Iceland to subsidize that expense. In a bar a beer will range from 500 ISK up to around 800 ISK. There really is nothing quite like your first Fanfest. CCP Tyr has been making the event bigger and better with every year so this one is going to be the best so far
Do you allow us to convert our ingame ISK for buying beer in Iceland? Cause if so, I can buy a whole lot of beer at 500 ISK to 800 ISK! |

The beer they have in Iceland is armadillo piss. If there wasn't a 20kg limit on my luggage, I'd bring my own! |

South Africa is not known for (a) strong monetary unit and (b) cheap air flights. Fail on both counts I hope to see pics posted during and after the event!! Success to all, I certainly hope it goes well. I hear our esteemed minibus taxi drivers have started an airline... maybe we can get cheap tickets to Iceland? \o/ |

We're kind of pissed at her at the moment after her song was used in the Inspired by Iceland initiative. It was rather annoying to have to start making some surreal dance routine every time you pass some random CCTV camera in case it was a direct feed to inspiredbyiceland.com.
