The same Sebiestor man with his wide smile shows up on the screen as last time, "Hello folks, and have we got a treat for you this time. Two capsuleers fighting over a rarely seen item, something created for the higher ranking Covenant Pilots in the depths of Delve."
He moves along and out across a catwalk railing, overlooking a Hangar where a variety of different ships can be seen down below, all frigates of different types. "Again it will be one on one combat, but instead of the lumbering cruisers that dwarf small colonies, they will be using Advanced Frigates of their choice."
*The screen fades away to a version of the Cartel Emblem, before fading and showing Inara at her desk*
Like he said, DeadSpaceÖ #2 is upon us. This time pitting one of the front line soldiers of the Federation, Mr. Seriphyn Inhonores, against a business associate of mine, Ms. Morwen Lagann.
Again, the rules for them are simple... They will warp to designated ranges at the designated arena (starting 10km apart) using any T2 frigate they wish to bring to the field. The ships they choose to fly will be left unsaid until the day of the match to prevent any specialized setups designed to counter a specific ship being used.
Wagers will remain in any increment of 1million Kredits, this is to allow people that may not have a lot to make a little, and those with bigger wallets put a bit more on the line. To make a wager, transfer the amount you wish to wager to me with the reason being ôDeadSpaceÖ #2 - <name of the person you're wagering on>ö.
And as with last time, for you concerned gamblers, the ones worried about your reputations, perhaps you're afraid of your CEO finding out you have a vice, a small fee of 100k ISK per 1million wagered and your name remains anonymous (also sent to me, separate from your wager itself labeled "DeadSpaceÖ #2 Anonynous Fee"). All others, your wagers will be made public.
*All donations without the proper reason will be considered donations and greatly appreciated and accepted. All wagers will be posted here the day of the match so you can mock those who made a poor wager and thank them for your well earned ISK. Winner will be verified via killboard API pulls.*

I'm bringing you the first round of updates on the wagers so far, it seems that Ms. Lagann is the favorite by a good portion at this point.
Originally by: Break-Downs Seriphyn Inhonores: 45million DeadRow - 15million Vaden Khale - 30million
Morwen Lagann: 110million Aurora Morgan - 20million Marcus Gord - 5million Vikarion - 30million Omiot Pavus - 50million Heyna Deltais - 5million

Particularly considering that Vaden's wager is dictated by Vikarion's, I can't help wonder whether the wagers so far are a comment on our perceptions of the pilots' skill or on a certain former Federal candidate's popularity.

If I could be sure Pilot Lagann wouldn't throw the fight intentionally for profit my ISK would definitely be on her. As it is, I'm looking forward to getting a chuckle out of seeing Inhonores beaten.

Er... exactly how would I make a profit off of throwing the fight?
I've got no intentions of the sort to begin with, and honestly, I've been looking forward to having an opportunity to try and reduce one of Seriphyn's vessels to a smouldering wreck for a long time now. In addition, DeadRow is only providing me further incentive to succeed in the task. (Love and kisses to you too, Hikari dearest!)

Mr. Havohej:
I can, and do, vouch for Ms. Lagann.
We Ghosts have certain principles of the "good businesspeople" sort: we don't run scams, we don't dishonor ransoms, and we don't rig games. All of these are bad for business. If you're looking to attract customers, it's poor policy to leave fecal matter on the waiting room table.
If you're going to worry about anyone, worry about Mr. Inhonores.

By betting against yourself through a proxy.

Ah, What an interesting concept. I myself enjoy flying frigate class hulls quite regularly so this should be interesting...
As for wagering ISK on one of the two pilots... I think i'll do a bit of homework first to be sure I make the right choice.

Let it be said that PRETA Directorate will never condone nor support any sort of scam in our business practices. While Aria's word may be strong incentive, let it be reinforced that any evidence of a Ghost tampering or otherwise violating the established rules for the DeadSpace contests will be penalized in a most garish fashion.

One would be foolish to think that this betting is along pratical, skilled lines and not popularity.
Looking at CONCORD's records, Morwen Lagann's kills (while far outnumbering mine) include mostly targets that were "ganked" or greenhorns that shouldn't be in lowsec. Easy kills, if you will.
Whereas, for the most part, my own kills have been solo or in small-scale engagements, as is the nature of fighting in military sites.
Does this fact change how people will bet? Of course not. Not that it will bother me if I lose, even if Morwen's immature whinging will get a tad more annoying given the increase to the size of her space phallis. So putting the spoilt little rich girl in her place will be pleasant, if she'll stop complaining every time I open my mouth

Hm... I'll admit to having not read the rest of your post; to be honest I wasn't expecting it would be anything more than inconsequential trolling because, hey, it's not real on the IGS, right?
Even so, I'm confident of my bet and in the unlikely event you actually manage to win I'm also confident that you'll just fall on your face elsewhere and things will be right in the cluster again.

Something tells me you're more sore that not as many people are betting against me as are against you, instead of that there seems to be some perception that I am a more skilled pilot than you when it comes to capsuleer combat.
Let me be the first to say it: If I am more skilled than you, it is specifically in certain engagement scenarios that are different from those you are used to participating in. I normally work in a group, and occasionally alone -- yes, most of my solo work has been against pilots who really didn't know what they were doing, with a couple exceptions -- but that does not necessarily classify them all as 'easy kills'.
Originally by: Seriphyn Inhonores Does this fact change how people will bet? Of course not. I have every reason to believe that this statement is false, and that you will be quite bothered if you lose; why else would you be ranting and raving about all of this? It is not a foregone conclusion that one or the other of us will win, despite what those betting might think (to them I highly suggest that they take things into account that are not simply whether they like one of us more than the other). As for sizes of "space phalluses"... I think perhaps you should look at my combat statistics a little more carefully before talking about that -- I'm not the one who flies Gallente vessels almost exclusively in combat (in fact, I fly Caldari vessels more than anything else). That would be you.
I am participating in this event primarily because Inara asked me to, and because I need a diversion from all the other crap going on in my life. Having the chance to fight you is merely a side effect that quite frankly, I have no particular preference for over fighting any other pilot out there. Just because I have wanted to shoot at you for a while does not make this particular event any more or less important to me; what makes it important to me is that I was asked to do it by a close friend. If I lose, I lose. If I win, I win. I honestly don't care what the outcome is. In the end, it's just a frigate. I can buy another one, as can you.
As for being a "spoilt little rich girl"... I'm rather curious where you get that idea from, as "spoiled" is hardly a word I'd use to describe my childhood, let alone "rich" being used to describe my family's financial status while I was growing up. Keep the name-calling and accusations to things you can back up, please. I'd like to see, from you, some concrete examples of this so-called "immature whinging." It would help counteract all the -- for lack of a better term -- "immature whinging" that you seem to be doing. Who cares that nobody's betting on you? It's their ISK.
And, finally, when it comes to complaining every time you open your mouth, perhaps that problem would solve itself if you tried thinking before speaking. Your posts to this thread certainly seem to show that you don't.

Funny, I found the opposite. Well, I wouldn't say Mr Inhonores is far superior. But then, Morwen and I have this 'thing' for watching each other fail, maybe that is why I bet on Mr Inhonores too.
