I know that there was a thread about it, but I'll post this one cuz I can't find the damn thing.
game is awesome.
gameplay itself is nothing new but good at the same time.
story is OMFG
I named my dog Cardin, and I'm trying to get my city elf warrior along with Morrigan.
oh and Sten is a ****ing stoic guy. Tried give him booze but that made things worse (like, lol). ---

Sten takes the paintings believe it or not. I thought he would have been the armor pieces but that appears to be the assassin.

This game is a case of "wiki usage is almost mandatory" P.S. Also a case of "save often, reload after unlocks or else you're screwed". And a case of "screw it, I'm going to memory-edit my cash the very least".

Some of the Circle of Magi sidequests can be very...unleading...to say the least, but that is the only part i've had to use the Wiki.
My only disappointment with the game was how easy the archdemon was. Two Hurloc Emissaries give me more grief tbh (**** you, curse of mortality.) Maybe thats just because i'm actually good at the game, or maybe its because Juggernaught Plate + Wades superior drakeskin = fire damage immunity near enough for my two melee fighters.
There's already a couple of useful mods over on Dragonagenexus, most notably the NoFollowerAutolevel, which stops followers from being automatically skilled/attributed when they join your party. No I do NOT need dexterity and strength on Wynne/Morrigan tyvm. And i certainly do not need full tactic slots on Wynne to start with.

I named my Mabari after my goldfish, which did get a little confusing at times. The City Elf origin story is brilliant, so visceral and unrelenting. I've completed the game as city elf rogue (assassin + ranger) who dual weaponed/backstabbed everyone and am halfway thru a second playthru with elf Magi. The Circle origin is still interesting, and you get to see the tower *before* the BMs go demon crazy.
I went Ice, mage, full healing and the hex line...the last is a *must take* for your party's mage. The top ability turns every hit on a monster into a critical, annihalates bosses. I've taken Arcane Warrior as second spec but have no idea how to play it. I think it would probably be best to take with Blood Mage, as first BM ability lets you cast spells from health instead of mana, which with Shimmering Shield active you'll have none of. I figure set Wynne to healbot mode and AW/BM can be an insane tank with full offensive spell ability. Max out magic and constitution and you won't need Alistair or Shale anymore. -------------

epic game, i went dalian elf rogue, i have maxed out my duel-wielding and duellist lines and i am working on the rogue passive ones. i am at lvl 18 just about to go to the landsmeet, with the two expensive axes with three slots each that the dwarf in your camp sells, and dragonbone medium armour. I also bought the really expensive all-improving belt from the quartermaster in the mages tower, and a helmet that increases my physical resistance so that when morrigan goes to town with blizzard everyone freezes except me! i also have wynne, standard, and alastair because he is funny and seems relevent to the story.

Arcane Warrior ftw.
To play arcane warrior: - Self buffs - legionnare/guardian/blood dragon armor - Arcane warrior 1H + shield = Lol ownage
I usually ran around with combat magic, shimmering shield, a weapon damage buff and both physical self buffs on. Occasionally put on the anti-magic buff as well to kill the emissaries.
You're nigh invincible with that stuff stacked. I usually ran around with Legionnaire armor on. Yellow might hit for a few damage but most white stuff barely hit for more than 5 damage tops, usually less. The only way he ever died was against overwhelming numbers or if he got nuked by multiple enemy mages at once.
Just him and Wynne took down a revenant because the thing could barely scratch my AW.
Thinking of redoing soon with either a human noble warrior or city elf rogue. Not sure yet though. Perhaps even another mage as I really want to try blood mage.

as an old kotor fan i must say, this is easily the best PC game i've seen since i found Eve. ---------- Anyway, I'm sorry, but that just happens to be how *I* feel about it. What do you think? |

I totally hate those things.
