Introduction.
MNDS are a mature corporation that above all want to have fun in EVE. We are a group of friendly guys who like to blow **** up and make some isk. We have a varied range of activities, ranging from mining and wormhole exploration to mission running and PVP. We do not have any minimum skill point requirements, as your mentality is much more important than the length of time you have been playing the game; however, we do not take trial accounts.
Benefits
1. Forum, we have our own forum where upcoming events and operations, technical information, general chit chat and anything else you like are discussed. 2. Killboard, are you a serious killer? like to be able to brag about it, then you can post all your kills (and losses too) here as proof. 3. Ventrillo, a necessity for any kind of organised operations are voice comms, we have our own Vent server, where you can take part in fleet ops, use it for running missions with some guys or for general chat, Mic not essential, but you cant shout for help if you donÆt have one 4. Training, as our roster contains some very skilled pilots (Guys with 85+mil SP) we can help you out with all kinds of training in EVE, from what skills to train, to FC (Fleet Command) experience. We also provide skill books to help our less experienced guys get off to a good start. 5. Ship provision, A big stumbling block to many people getting into PVP is the old EVE rule ôif you cant afford to lose it, donÆt fly itö, we counter this by providing ships for our regular organised roaming PVP Gangs, even a pilot with few skill points can fly a T1 frigate with a webber or scrammer , if you lose it its no problem and the corpÆs industrial activities keep the corp hangers well stocked.
What does the corp expect from me?
As all corporations have running costs, there is normally a Tax, our tax rate is charged at 10% which is currently less than what the NPC corps charge. This charge is only taken from mission rewards and bounties. All other income sources are not taxed.
We will require your limited API key so that we may check your characters, we will require your main be your applicant, Alts will be accepted at a later stage. We may also use your api info to assist you with training, as we will be able to see your skills and may be able to advise you in re-directing your training into a more productive path.
We do also realise that real life comes before a game, yes even EVE, so you take part when you can, itÆs surprising how many corps place demands on people like you must be on at these times, you must take part in these ops etc, etc, obviously if youÆre studying for exams, thatÆs not really going to be possible, is it? Lol
We do expect all members to be courteous and loyal, while we donÆt mind banter and swearing (we are all adults after all) we do appreciate that some people find it offensive, so if you are asked to stop or tone it down you are expected to do so. Having said that, some of the best laughs I have ever had were done so chatting on our Vent , because after all, this is a game and we are here to have fun!!
Other info
The Mindstar group has other member corporations, for things like research and manufacturing, these are generally not open for applications but you may be invited into them if your skills set matches what they need, and of course if youÆre interested. Currently, the largest percentage of our members are EU timezone, but we do have a significant number of US TZ and in fact, our XO is from the USA. English is our default language and you must be able to understand spoken and written English.
We have offices in the following areas:-
Onnamon û State War Academy School
If you wish to join, you can apply at the above office. If you would like more information, or simply like a chat, then Convo/Evemail Attia Wyn in game

Greetings.
I am still building my list of possible corporations. I am looking for a family-friendly one that is also tolerant of a new player's silly questions.
Here are some of the criteria. 1. Family-friendly: I have a 2 year old and a second on the way this month. Play time will be fit in around my fatherly responsibilities.
2. New Player-friendly: I would like to preface what I say here with the fact that I don't want my hand held. That's not how I learn. But, there are silly questions like "How do you find available mission agents on the HUGE map?" kinda stuff. Or, how to tailor that cluttered overlay for Ratting or mining etc. I am open to friendly suggestions on character advancement and ship loadouts.
3. I am US based. I would like to confirm that there is a decent amount of US players. I see that you are EU based, but have US members.
4. I have no idea of where / what I'm doing in EVE. I know that I like missioning and some mining (for those less hectic ways of making isk). I am training salvager at the moment and plan on trying some ratting once it is finished (provided I can figure out how to get to .7sec). I do have some interest in manufacturing ammo / ships but have no sp to support it yet.
5. PvP: I'll be honest... It intimidates me - a lot. I absolutely sucked at it on the other MMOs I played. I assume EVE won't be any different. But, once I do have the SP, equipment and ISK to support it, I would be willing to try it. I'd rather be with someone and not PvP solo.
I know this is a long post, but I wanted to give you an accurate portrait of the extent of my nOObness and an accurate picture of what I was looking for in a corp.
Thank you for spending a few moments of your time to read my inquiry. I'm not entirely sure if I'll make it on tonight (family night), but I will be on tomorrow after work.
Sincerely Rock

Rock,
I will try to answer some of those questions for you.
1. Mindstar's average age is somewhere around the 30'ish area, so a large portion of us have got kids too (Congrats on the soon to be new arrival BTW, hope it goes well) I myself have a 3 year old, so i understand perfectly what you mean. We do not enforce any times that you must be online all we ask is that you participate in corp activities when you are online. 2. We are definately a new player friendly corp and we have the opinion that attitude is far more important than skill points and we have players ranging from total noobs to people playing pretty much since the start of EVE. I myself am the recruitment officer and a part of my job is looking after noobs, I mean new players :) We always have skilled players online to answer any questions you may have, or to point you in the right direction, if that doesnt work, you can ask in the forums and you will get a (normally) intelligent response. 3. We have several US based players and in fact our CEO is US TZ, one of our experienced FC's (Fleet commanders) is US TZ, one of our fleet scouts is US TZ and we have a few more active US TZ players too (including , I believe, miners) 4. Whatever you feel like doing in EVE, we do it or have done it :) I myself run missions to make ISK and PVP for fun. We run regular "Roaming gangs" where one of our experienced FC's takes a fleet out through low sec or null sec for some fun and games. We have a Kill board where your finest kills (and losses) are recorded ] on the salvaging, its probably best to salvage your mission wrecks first, as ratting in High sec does not generally provide good returns, I generally dont loot/salvage my wrecks in L4's (because i couldnt be bothered) so you could salvage my wrecks :) 5. PVP in EVE has an extremely steep learning curve, however you can always be of help in roaming gangs, no matter what your skill level. If you can fly cruisers, they do decent DPS and are relatively cheap (because you WILL lose ships) We also help out our newer players with things like fittings and ships for our newer players to take on roaming gangs.
Let us know if you are interested or would like any more info etc,

Hey,
I recently came back to the game after 9 months off, and I'm looking for a corp to get back into the action with. I'm EU timezone, and would be online:
Weekdays 1800-2100 (possible, if needed) Weekdays 2100-0000/0100/0200 (most days) Weekends vary, but typically 2-3 hours/day.
I'm at around 18.5 mil SP; most of this is geared towards L4 mission running in Caldari ships (which I'm currently in a Golem for), but I also have skills trained for SB/Ewar roles in PvP, and my main should be able to pilot any mining/hauling vessel for mining ops (I have an alt on an inactive account that can also fulfil the mining/hauling roles)
In terms of "player skill" - I have relatively little experience in PvP, and none in the last 18 months. As such, I certainly wouldn't say I'm PvP-ready, I think I'd need some practice first.
I'll drop you a convo if I see you online; otherwise if I'm of any use to you at all, let me know :)
