"Return of the dark light from the heart of the mother"
I think for all you prophecy nuts out there its safe to assume most of you will agree the previous six signs have already occurred. but what of the seventh.
has it already happened with the sudden appearance of random WHs and sleeper drones
or could it be interpreted as having something to do with the EVE gate in the New Eden system that has yet to unravel itself

Reverberating the vast emptiness within, no doubt Mr. Sticher.
I wouldn't calssify myself as a prophecy "nut," but I have done some research on this.
The wormholes are a part, so are the drones and the infected. They are the heralds of what is to come.

Direct evidence in support of a logical conclusion can be reasonably used to prepare for likely outcomes. However, 'prophecies' that cannot be supported with reproduceable scientific results are not useful in that they fail to produce logical extensions from past experience and are therefore impractical conjecture.

You know what the problem with prophecy is? They're always so vague that you only realise that it's "come true" after the fact. And I'm yet to see a case of a prophecy coming true that wasn't just confirmation bias anyway. And the ones that haven't been romanced into turning out as prophesied simply haven't done so yet.

Every once in awhile someone will bring this up, or so I've gathered. Prophecies are useful for three kinds of people: Religious, so that they can be told what will come in the End, 'prophecy nuts' so they can wonder what each and every sign might mean, and in some cases the prophet, who will live on so long as people are pointing to asteroids and calling them signs.
Outside of the Prophecies foretold in the Scriptures I have little use for the things. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Jakiin Holder Heir of the Kingdom 'Pacifist Reclaimer' |

The problem with prophecy is exactly the same as the problem with superstitious beliefs in general (including religious fancies of any kind):
They are primitive mumbo.

Ghost Hunter, would you be kind enough to entertain those of us who are ignorant of the Madam's work? My analysis of common prophecy was not meant to discredit the genuine investigations of any individual. Any facts you can bring to the discussion are quite welcome, and I will take them as sincere.

While I don't subscribe to the Amarr religion, my respect for it knows no limits. A simple system of faith that forged the greatest empire in New Eden. You would do well not to dismiss the power of faith.
My respect for Macaper on the other hand, is rooted in simple fact. Most of these prophecies have come true. One could claim that prophecy is intentionally vague, so that any event could fit the bill and render said prophecy self-fulfilling, given time - but to see so many of these predicted events unfold within the last decade makes me suspect that some form of actual prescience may be at work.
As someone whose business involves predicting what is to come, I will be keeping a very watchful eye on this prophecy and what comes of it.
Something has been building up to a point ever since Macaper scribbled down her premonitions. Something is coming.

Well, if you knew the prophecy was happening then and then... it wouldn't come true, because you'd prepare and avoid it. Then again, the prophecy might come true because you'd be prepared for it. So in essence, prophecies can be safely ignored. The ones that are to vague will come true and hopefully recognized after the fact, but mostly not, and the ones that aren't vague will happen anyway, because they are self fulfilling, no matter what you'd do about it.

Perhaps I should write a prophecy as well, and have its believers donate all their ISK to me. Could probably safely retire then.
You'd honestly think capsuleers would be smarter than to believe this kind of nonsense. Stitcher explains it rather well.

Well, we seem to have the nice, foolhardy range of juvenile opinionists who think that they know it all, once again. If you'll permit this old man a voice, Pilots, I'd like to work my words into a coherent argument to challenge your staunch and unmoving beliefs. Even those beliefs not of a religious founding.
Firstly. To those who think a prophecy coming true is completely Impossible. You are wrong. I'm afraid to say, that Prophecies are just highly Improbable, there is a very important difference between Impossibilities and Improbabilities. It is entirely possible for a series of predictions such as Macapers to come true, even if the odds are slim to none at best. If anyone disagrees that a Prophecy is Improbable (rather than Impossible), you're welcome to challenge my reasoning, and I'll be happy to educate you.
If history has taught us anything is that people who call things impossible are often proven wrong with good measures of time and better understanding. Take for example the engineers of an age gone by who believed that it was impossible to travel faster than the speed of light. Truly, and utterly impossible to do! By all accounts, according to their limited scientific knowledge this was the case! It took a visionary to prove to them that not everything in our universe is so set in stone and today we take FTL Travel as a completely natural, and utterly possible part of every-day life. Most of us even use it to do such mundane things as go shopping or meet friends and relatives.
Second. To our "Scientists" who dismiss Macapers Prophecies because of a "Lack of Evidence". I'd like to point out that; (1)each of the Signs of Macapers Prophecies can be linked to a series of rare Spacial Phenomenon. (2)Each of these phenomenon occurred in the same order as prophecised by Macaper. (3)They have all occurred within the space of a decade and (4)they happened in places we could clearly observe them in New Eden.
Given (4)the vastness of the space that we as a species inhabit in New Eden and how improbable it is for things like a head-on comet collision to happen anywhere in our Galaxy. Given the improbability that an entire colonized planet could flood, after years and years of climate stability. Given the Improbability that a wormhole would open over a planet. That they would open over an ENTIRE GALAXY IN UNION ON ONE DAY.
Well I just don't think you can be quite so close minded to the possibilities.
Now despite what you may think of me as an Intaki Reborn. I'm not just some Monk who thinks that invisible unknowable forces like Karma control the galaxy. I'm an open minded scientist. I've lived in multiple incarnations for coming up on Five Centuries now and if living that long has taught me anything it is that, I'm not willing to throw out scientific or religious possibilities just because they don't fit into the Status Quo of Societies Beliefs, be they Religious, Scientific or otherwise.
I'm considering the options rooted in the Probable despite how Improbable they may seem. How about the theory that Macaper may have received messages from the Ancient Sleeper Civilisation behind the wormholes, and they have been orchestrating all of these events? What about the theory that Wormhole based time-travel may be involved in enabling Macaper to somehow grasp the knowledge needed to form these predictions? What about the possibility that there is a Higher Intelligence out there who is pulling the strings? Or perhaps that humans are capable of the Psychic Powers to make these future predictions? What about a Hyper Advanced Quantum Computer making these predictions for her?
Of course, the most likely answer is that this is all just a rather big coincidence. But I can safely say that it is at this moment in time quite impossible for anyone to say that coincidence or otherwise is the only answer.
Scientific inquiry is required to get to the truth. Be the Truth; Lies, Coincidence or Revelations. á - Signed,

Very well my friend. There are many theories and possibilities to disprove of course, as I stated earlier. But one has to start somewhere, so...
The first Hypothesis I would like to test would be that of the Sleeper Drone involvement in the "Prophecy". Whether or not the Drones have planned a set of phenomenon (The Signs) which Macaper may have discovered and then used in her writings.
To me this would be the logical starting point. Before we try (and likely fail) to explain or deny that Macaper received a Psychic Vision or whispers from Divinity in her prayers.
Proving or disproving this Sleeper Drone Hypothesis would involve collecting and/or studying working specimens of Sleepers from Wormhole Space. Collecting, collating and deciphering data of their language, their programming, their function and purpose.
We'd test how the Sleeper Drones think and communicate. Find out why they're interested in New Eden and what they're capable of. Investigating their origins and trying to determine who constructed them. (Or at least, who set the first ones off if they're capable of self-manufacture now.)
The list goes on. But essentially I'd test the tangible thing we have, that is a sentient 'species' of ancient drones, that we can go out and study, that inhabit the wormholes which may or may not have been mentioned in the prophecy. I've already seen them come through wormholes into New Eden on what appear to be scouting missions, generating usable sub-space gate-ways as they travel from point to point across a Solar System, and then dropping back into Wormhole Space without a trace of their presence.
The possibilities are quite astounding, and it's left me wondering if they could've used their Wormhole Travel technology to influence the events such as the first sign of the Twin-Comet Collision, or the second, the flood on Fricoure. I think we certainly all seem to agree they're behind the recent appearance of Stable Wormholes all over our Galaxy.
If after analysis we found that the sleepers were not behind the Prophecy, I'd move onto a different route of enquiry, until everything that can be tested has been covered and concluded upon. Only then, am I willing to accept that the Prophecy is not worthy of further debate or inquest. á - Signed,
