Why do scan sig's ID's change after Downtime? I find this very annoying as I tend to scan my wormhole and take note of all the signatures. Then comes downtime and changes everything! then I have to re-scan!
Someone PLEASE explain!

I remember talking about this before.. just bookmark everything when you scan and when you run a site remove the bookmark. Am I the only one who ignores the ID for the most part? (I pay attention to if they're duplicates)

First, Forranz is correct, you should be bookmarking all the sites anyway. Next, this is working as intended; every time you change systems, dock, or log off (as for downtime), the IDs for sites are randomized. ---

I don't think is this completely accurate. They only randomize (change ID) at DT; not when you dock, log-off, or change systems. They do however, disappear from your ignore ID list when you dock, log-off, or change systems.

They only change at downtime. I've tried docking, logging off and they are still the same. Them comes downtime and bam ID's are changed. Whats the point in bookmarking everything it's not going to make it any easier to identify new sigs.

Odd, could have sworn they changed. Never really bothered to pay too close attention since I always scan everything down the first time and bookmark them so if I do another pass later I can ignore sites I've already scanned (if they haven't already disappeared). ---

Bookmarking the sites doesn't help, since after downtime you're scanning to look for new stuff. When you live in wormhole systems and come back after DT to check your local neighbor connection, it's a pain to see if anything new is spawned when there are already a dozen sigs in the system.
It's the same site, there's no reason why the ID should be different.

Yes it does. You find the new sigs of your bookmarks by dropping a probe set to the minimum range (0.25AU or 0.5AU depending on which probes you are using) and moving the probe over to the old bookmark which you can see in the map.
You'll get a 100% hit on the first scan with just one probe and bingo - your new sig.
