What is "Dirtside" means? Can anyone explain it to me???
This is an early intro related chrocinle teaser for dust even though its an unknown timeframe off and still not fo PC
Dirt is also a related meaning for dust ( dirt-dust side)
Intresting chrocile adds some ground based interaction. Watch this space loosley Signature - CCP what this game needs is more variance in PVE aspects and a little bit less PVP focus, more content more varied level 1-4 missions more than just 10 per faction high sec low sec and 00 |

It was a nice read, but not the best ever. Makes you wonder why the Gallenteans decided to make a ground assault. If I were them I'd torpedo that rock into dust from space. Maybe they want to take somebody alive?

Good story. Overall. The Caldari are probably the 2nd best race in EVE outside the jovians. lolz

Just what we needed, another Caldari Chronicle.
Everyone should visit EVE Chronicles again, for the next story how awesome the Caldari are.

It was a well written story to give perspective on how the Caldari act. The lack of personal names actually makes sense in a mission like this done in secret no one would really have named they would have their position. Ruthless Efficiency is the name of the game when it comes to the Caldari. The Director making the decision to possibly kill some of his workers to complete the project near schedule, the instant decision of completing the job over the lives of the workers. Its perfect, it does not paint the Caldari as good guys, it merely paints the Caldari as they are, people dedicated to their place in their society, quick calculating ruthless and efficient.
The State is all that matters to the Caldari, the State is the Caldari and all Caldari are the state. No matter what the personal cost, if it adds to the future of all Caldari then it is worth it. No good feelings, no warm and fuzzy moments, feelings are saved for when you have time off from your duty (thus the slightly sad moods of the workers after they are done with their work).
There is no complaint because to complain would slow the job, they decided who was the most qualified for the job and he was the boss, no politicking no squabbling, just a quick decision on what would be the most pratical.
Thank you for writing this story, my Caldari based corporation all read it and all had a moment afterwards where we nodded said "For the State".
A link from the story to here needs to be added I think you will like what you hear from people who just read it.

A little bit of background: this chron was originally written last summer, primarily as a vehicle to characterize a particular (and not necessarily canonical) interpretation of the Caldari psyche (as Mielono correctly guessed). I'd agree that the narrative and characterization (not to mention the length) aren't quite on par with other recent chrons, but in my defense that's not what it was trying to achieve

Not really, it holds about as much value as anything does in a game of internet spaceships, people just having a little fun with it.
I say prep for dustoff, nuke the site from orbit...

Again, there is nothing (not. a. thing.) in the chronicle suggesting a connection to DUST beyond being set in the same universe and conflict. You are just grasping for straws. -----

<snip>
It is not a sign that people are taking RP too seriously, it is a sign that they can have fun at their own expense.
Fair enough, and I apologise for any offence given.
Possibly it's because this is a written medium & it can be a bit difficult to detect tone of "voice" unless it is explicitly flagged.

I thought I was always the one to get upset about stuff in Eve. I don't care either way if it's related to DUST or the writer's experiences hunting whales in the north atlantic.
Mmmm, talking about whales. Are there any whales in Eve, apart from the Domi, I mean?

I like it.
The story provides insight to the mindset of the Caldari instead of the stories that raise more questions than answers which have been coming out recently. (Not that it's a bad thing it just gets kind of old in my opinion)
Thanks for a refreshing change of pace.

The soldier in the backgroud looks perfect. You can see the tension in his body, and you can almost feel the weight he's putting on his lower arms as he's trying to maintian as much cover as possible.
However, the soldier in the foreground is off. His left hand (the one on the trigger), almost seems as if it was put on upside-down.
Having taken another look just now, I can see there's something wrong with the gun, too. The back half of the gun, from about the area where the magazine is, all the way back to the 'butt' of the gun, is pointing AWAY from us, the viewer (slightly off to HIS one o'clock).
However, the front of the gun, is pointing to HIS eleven o'clock (and slightly towards us). We can actually see the front 'plane' of the gun, with the two barrels. But from the way he's holding his gun, that would be impossible. For us to see the front plane of his gun, he would have to turn his shoulders to his left (towards us), showing us more of the front of his body.
I know that hands are among the most difficult things to draw, so if I seem a bit too harsh, sorry. It's why, when drawing, I come up with some of the best excuses not having to draw a hand (ie. 'draping' a cloth over it, or have someone walk with his hands in his pockets).
The soldier in the foreground is a leftie.

I must agree with those who rated this not up to the normal par for stories. Sorry.
I still find most of the stories very depressing or dark. This one seemed to be a "war is pointly" story in a way. If the Gal's wanted to they would blast them from space. Going ahead with the placement seemed rather stupid after the incursion was detected - not like they would not be looking.
But that besides, please keep writing stories. Gives me something to read on long hauls :)
