This plugin doesn't interface with Prism's owned blueprints cachefile. It holds it's own seperate copy, at which point it doesn't and isn't built to see custom blueprints.

So I can't see the effect of the component bpo ME level ?
In that case may I suggest you hardwire prefect ME in the component bpos as I am sure there is noone out there using unresearched component bpos ?
Thanks |

Edited by: EternalFaust on 03/01/2010 11:39:44 Yeah that's correct, and yes, I have been trying to get the T2 BP ME levels right for a while now and am struggling to find a purely programmatic way of doing this as I don't like hardcoding values. If CCP decide to yet again change build requirements I don't want to be trolling through the code updating hardcoded MEs.
Status update on the requests:
Shopping list functionality is now working in development branch. Fixed the issue with chance calculation that was affecting 3 items in development - Hulk, Mackinaw and Skiff.
Material requirements are still playing up and I'm working as fast as I can to fix this issue. I am waiting until I get this sorted before I release again.
Also, just a note for future requests. I have no intention of ever implementing custom BP handling from Prism as the cached objects used by prism for this have very different structures to the objects I use.

How do I have to understand "Approx. total cost per Item" in the Invention section? For example I have the Modulated Strip Miner II: - Avg. cost until success: 1,93 Mil - 10 Runs - Approx. total cost per Item should be 193k, but is 352k
What does that number mean??

To be honest, I haven't looked at that field since version 1.0 and noone has ever brought up a problem with it, so there is a high probability that I stuffed that one up from the word go. I'll have a look at it a little later.

Ok guys, my fix for the mackinaw, hulk and skiff actually broke the chance based on ship type. I'm prepping a new release for this as we speak.

Also, you aren't taking build cost into account.

I think I found another bug.
With the manufacture component check box ticked the build cost for R.A.M.- Armor/Hull Tech when inventing 10MN Afterburner is coming up as 3,076.68. If I switch to 10MN Microwarpdrive the cost of the R.A.M. now shows 14,018.42.
Both modules only use 1 unit of the same type of R.A.M. so I would expect the cost to be the same for both modules.

I will look into it. It's showing some really strange values there. I'm not sure what is happening but I'll figure it out.

I think I found a typo in version 1.9 that might be causing a bug.
After extracting the three zipped files to my Eve HQ folder and starting Eve HQ, I get an error message about converting the string "0..01" to a value, and would I like to reset settings to default.
I'm afraid I was a bit of numpty and pushed yes before writing down the exact error message. On subsequent restarts after a reset to default, the error doesn't repeat.
Trit... it's as essential as blood, but far less messy. |

Thank you Kire ^_^ .
I'll take a look but my guess is that there was an issue in the db updating that caused that fault, and once it happens once it doesn't happen again, it's a failsafe for corrupt data.

Under MFG resources just the "Titanium Diborite Armor Plate" require a total of 630,000 units of Titanium Carbide which is correct. When I go the resources owned screen to start building my shopping list it shows that only 540,300 units of "Titanium Carbide" are required. That is way less that the 630,000 for the armor plates not to mention the other components that need this resource.
P.S. Thank you very much for the work you have put into this. I loved the old invention calculator and it looks like you are on your way to another great piece of programming.

Originally by: knfuldt grebnox I think I am doing something terribly wrong guys so I could appreciate some help.
I am trying to invent 425mm Railguns using the invention plugin. I select the "Manufacture the components" check box but I cannot get the t2 component bpos and t1 item's bpo ME to register. All calculations are done assuming ME0 bpos so my costs are off.
I have in Filters the "owned blueprints only" check selected. The Blueprint reads as "425mm Railgun I Blueprint (Owner: <My Char Name>). And in Prism I have gone in and manually added for this char the superconductor rails bpo with ME50 and the 425mm I bpo again with ME50.
Any thoughts on what I am doing wrong ??
if u really wanna do the cost using your BP, calculate your cost to make the component BP item, and set that as a custom market price for it, then you'll get the actual profit for the component not exactly a perfect solution, but their are bigger bugs to cursh then adding the "owned component BPO ME levels" as that was actually requested before but really even the basic ME calc for creation of components is still being worked on before we ask him to try expanding on it.

Thank you for a superb plug-in! I've got three humble suggestions:
#1 Make it possible to add multiple runs of T2 BPCs to the shopping list. i.e. a input field besides the "Add to shopping list" button where the number of runs are put in. (would also be nice to possibly mark all T2 BPC:s in ones hangar and select "buy materials needed")
#2 Being able to see possible profit and number of BPC:s available in a sortable list, separately or besides the drop-down, would be nice. This in combination with the possibility to add data-cores, for a specific number of inventions, to the shopping list would also be nice.
(These two add-buttons should work separately since you donŠt buy datacores at the same time as you buy the manufacturing materials.)
#3 make it possible to choose what component you build yourself as opposed to those that you buy. Eg. I rarely build the t1 mod but I always build R.A.M:s

These are good suggestions and some have been in my mind for a while now. Problem is, it's very difficult to do some of this. I hope that in the not too distant future I can do this but for the moment I will probably be only able to do the shopping list based requests.

With certain things like guns, you can include a meta-item to improve the success of the invention, so u can include say an anode mega neutron blaster, in the invention of a neutron blaster II, this field is for the cost that you wud pay for the anode each and the meta level is the meta level of that item (check show info on item), the higher the meta item, the better the boost to success, but also the costlier it is to get the meta item lol... rarely is it worth it to use them, but sometimes its a big boost, especially if u can get cheap meta 4 items :)

It's been brought to my attention that the most likely possibility for the bugs with the manufacturing values is the fact that, due to a major oversight on my part, The decryptor PE and ME modifier is being applied to the T2 component BPs. This is only half the issue, but still a big one. I'm working on it.

Latest version is up with several fixes and new features.
I have personally performed extensive testing and checking on build requirements for T2 components and verification in-game... (very difficult for me, being non-industrial) and I am fairly certain everything is showing correctly now.
Enjoy

Well looks good to me at first glance, the weird material issues seem to be fixed, the amount for adding to shopping cart is working good...
Few little suggestions if possible for 2.01 :)
1. A notice of some form when u add to cart, first time i did it i clicked it like 3 times, not realizing that it had already added it to cart, maybe a lil pop saying "Added 10 items to cart"
2. A warning prompt somewhere for missing pricing info for a component... i was looking at something like a cap ship, and certain cap modules were missing price info 0.00 cost, wud be nice if the displayed item is missing pricing information for components then it wud have a red warning (like below the invention profit info) that says, "Warning this item profit/manufacuring costs may be incorrect due to missing pricing information"
3. Would be nice if you had the information for ME used in the calc, i know you said some of it is static like 20 for T2 mods and 10 for something else, wud be nice to have that info listed somewhere, either as a column (just with the static info your using to see at a glance) or in the help/settings window or something.

Ok, yes, a notice can be added for that.
The missing price information shouldn't be a problem either.
As for the ME, what I am thinking of doing is adding an option in the settings "ME for T2 component construction" and allowing people to set their own ME level. This will, of course, be a single ME level across the board for all T2 component construction as per it's current working.
For the record all T2 components have an ME level of 10 hardcoded at the moment.

This is looking real good!
As for the issue comparing profit between different BP:s. couldn't it be possible to just add a button like "Compare Profit" that compiles a list from your current settings (character, races selected, owned BP:s), sends this list as an argument and opens up a separate dialogue with a list-box where you can select column to sort by and the ability to add inventions to shoppinglist?
Or is it an issue with where to get the profit numbers? Do they need to be calculated one at a time?

couldn't you kind of fishhook it for a list, basically just call the combobox change routine but keep track of name/profit stats and instead of putting them into the window, put them in a dataset and then load them in a popup, just an idea :) don't know how feasable it is.
the t2 settings is a nice idea :) i like that
got a request if its not too hard, can you please add support for filter of ships/rigs/module along with the races, that wud really be nice :)
