I have encountered two major issues during normal gameplay: (WinXP Pro, 3.4Ghz Prescott P4, 512MB ATI Radeon X1950pro, 2GB Ram, two Clients running) - extremely choppy graphics when getting anywhere near planets ... locks up the whole computer. It's so bad I won't even think about doing missions because I'm afraid the computer will crash. - Issues while Ice Mining: *the cycle indicator is way off from when the ice blocks actually drop into the cargohold *if I do the last cycle and unlock the asteroid I will get less than four blocks of ice

We have our first report of a despawning site, it despawned after out guy warped out and came back to loot wrecks. We are looking to see if this was an isolated incedent or not. Anyone else able to confirm? "We are here for our fun, not yours". |

I opened EVE: Apocrypha for Windows, downloaded the Dominion patcher, let it patch, watched it report a successful completion. When I open EVE: Dominion, Tranquility is always shown as "Unknown". Additionally, clicking on the "Support", "News", "Patch Info" tabs from the login screen give a grey window with the title "URL Error".
I have downloaded the standalone client to try to get around this, and had no success. I verified my firewall is not blocking any CCP programs, my hosts file is not redirecting any CCP websites, my router is not filtering any CCP IP addresses, and am still unable to connect.
(21 hours later)
same... My skills needed updating hours ago... I've tried downloading the auto-downloader version and the off-line version both, 2 times each. Same problem with each install. Repair.exe gives the following log:
Version 1.0 Output folder: [snip] Extract: 7z.dll... 100% Downloading index file: http://eve-online.com/patches/repair/clientRepairInfo_117956.txt Download failed with error: connecting to host Error Level: 2 Log file: [snip]
Again, I've made sure firewall/router/hosts file is not interfering, and everything was working just fine right before the patch.
(days later, still no response from CCP)
Okay CCP. Enough of your horse****.
I found an old standalone installer for Quantum Rise. I uninstalled dominion, cleared everything out, and installed Quantum Rise. Guess what? It can see Tranquility. It says there's a new patch available, 2400MB in size. I'm downloading it now. So my setup still sees the server with everything BUT Dominion. So what the **** did you ***gots change without adding any documentation? I'm ****ing tired of this.
I'll update once the patch is downloaded and installed.
Edit: Update: Dominion successfully installed, server status: Unknown.
Good. ****ing. Job. CCP.
(new material below)
I've updated my chipset drivers, my LAN drivers, my video drivers. I've filed petitions, bug reports, posted on the technical forums. It's your turn to figure out what you ****ed up, CCP.

The Anomalies; They are still broken
Guys, these anomalies were one of the major selling points for the expansion of nullsec and they are pretty much a neccessity given you assigned a very large expense to owning systems and the anomalies were supposed to offset this cost.
When you release 1.0.3 in a few days, could you make this major issue a priority?
Regards.

Edited by: Chirinako on 09/12/2009 13:09:05 Seeing as CCP has now failed to reply to my petition in around a week, I'll come here and see if the playerbase can help.
I cannot play Eve. Why? Every time I try to install the client, I get a "this file is corrupt, download manually", or "Error, expected checksum was (bunchofnunbers) but was (bunch of numbers) etc etc.
I've tried installing the patch, then installing manually, i uninstalled Eve completely and downloaded the client from scratch and it still doesn't work.
If anyone can help me with this it would be great, I've now lost 8-9 days of gametime, however long it's been since CCP patched this ****e.
I'm running Windows XP if that helps.

Been getting 3-4 lockups a day since Dominion, mostly on jumping gates but has happened anywhere in space. Client just freezes for anything up to 2 minutes before becoming responsive again.

Tried it, didn't make a shred of difference ;s I'm no tech genius but I tried all the obvious stuff to get this to work properly before I submitted a petition and I STILLLLLL don't have a reply. Just by browsing through threads it seems like i'm not the only one with this problem either.

This sounds similar to those situations where you jump into an area where a lot is going on and your video card has to render everything aroud you first, so the game "pauses" or gets "choppy" for a second and then *poof*, it's ok again a second later. From the little info you gave of your computer, it seems fine enough that graphics shouldn't be an issue, but try lowering the graphics settings for a bit and see if that makes a difference to at least narrow down the possibilities. Perhaps your video card drivers need to be updated?

Have you tried deleting your prefs.ini file from EVE's folder in your local user directory?
Go to this directory: C:\Users\YOURWINDOWSUSERNAME\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\e_eve_online_tranquility\settings
(change YOURWINDOWSUSERNAME to the name of your username in windows :P)
If that doesn't work, I'd delete the entire C:\Users\Fretty\AppData\Local\CCP folder and reinstall the game again. Once again, I can't say this will work, but it's one of many things to try. Doing this though will delete any settings you have (such as window placement, graphics settings, audio settings, hot keys, etc etc.) and is annoying because of that, but it's worth a shot if it may help you play the game. Tried that, still getting "some installation files are corrupt" when I try to install the client. It clearly has to be an issue with my settings somewhere, as thousands of other people are playing the game with no issues-- sorry I take that back, lots of issues but hey at least they can log in XD

I would not be too surprised that the ppl @ ccp are working hard on fixing the issues, but some of the people here are disrespectfull in my opinion. For those complaining, did you send a bug report? Did you look around to check that it is not pebkac? Personally? No issues no, but i would report it. Wait patiently and after everything is working again and i had lost a lot of sp, i would file a petition in normal words and ask politely if the lost gametime could be added, just to help out.
Some of you are just being a bunch of ***holes towards the people working to get your "addiction" going again. For Pete's sake, its just pixels!! Stop acting like its the only thing you live for!
Now to CCP: Hope the trouble is being solved for most folks here and that the issues in dominion are not too hard to fix at all. The number of players online last sunday tells more about the game getting better and most of the players being able to log in...

Hi all,
I was just wondering today I have been kicked off Eve officially 13 times. It seems to happen when Im warping to a mission or jumping a gate. My chat box starts giving me that BEEEEP noise when I try to type my guns stop shooting and my targets stop getting attacked and as I sit there useless and renderless...blink 'the socket is closed' This normally happens once or twice a day but since the patch yesterday I cant believe how many tims it happened. In one hour i was ;closed; three times. Is this client side or server side? Do I need to reinstall the game completely? Does anyone else have this problem it really is starting to take the thrill of this game away from me

hi everyone,
I am getting same issues as mentioned in early pages of thread. My game lags on undock/warp sometimes for 10 seconds or more. When I warp to a belt the asteroids show a graphics defect of rapidly flashing white squares. I take it this is an error in glimmering effect the asteroids are supposed to be showing. My mouse pointer also seems to get 4 times larger and stays that way even when I minimize the game. A white bar will sometimes appear across the top of my screen as well. These issues occur with graphics settings turned all the way down or up.
These issues have been apparent since the inception of dominion which coincidentally came out around the time I built my new computer. I have not run dominion on my old system build.
My current computer specs, for all intensive purposes, should be more than adequate to run at least two clients in windowed mode on the same box using two monitors, 1 27" hdmi 1 19" dvi. I have not been able to get
System specs: gigabyte P55 UD4 motherboard, sapphire radeon hd 5770 gfx card, dx 11 (card is capable not sure if this is what eve is running), intel core i5 2.66 gHz quad core processor, 8 gb gskill ddr3 1600 (pc12800) memory, windows 7, all drivers up to date.
I can log in and change skills no problem however game play is difficult with the lag. Are there any workarounds I should try?

Game freezes up and graphics adapter stops responding after a few minutes in game. PC closes the game and display is now in standard VGA mode. Event log shows that the graphics adapter "entered an infinite loop". I have to reboot to get my display settings back. I'm using an ATI Radeon 4800. I've read this is an issue with ATI cards but this is the first time I've encountered it. EVE has always ran without issue before. I've updated to the latest drivers and did the appropriate general housekeeping.

Was having this problem as well. After checking my settings the patch had reenabled eve voice and turned all my graphics to high and enabled everything.
After turning off eve voice and optimizing graphics for performance (low settings) no lag at all and it actually better than it was before.
Running XP SP2 with ATI graphics card as well.
You're a hero!
Here, too, another machine (WinXP SP3, ATI Radeon HD 3850) has total freezings on warp enter/exit, but these instructions worked around it.
Definitely something for CCP to fix, but the workaround makes it possible to PvP before the real fix comes in.
