ok ive been asking in test server feed back for some time how this is gonna work and i finally got a dev responce
dev
it basically says that its so u can activate an expired account without having to contact the gm`s for a 24 hour free reactivation.
and for a day or so i was happy with this response thinking that all would become clear once it hit the live server and i could see the reverse redeemed plex on the account page.
ive just reversed a plex with my main so i could apply it to another account and after an hour of playing about cant for the life of me work out how this is suppose to work.
can we plz for the love of god have some clarification on how this thing works

So far I've figure out that you can right click on a plex card and select return to redeem items, which puts it into the redeem items that you can access at the ESC menu or character selection screen. I still haven't found where you can redeem it out of game however!

Given how the time code system works, have you tried to put TWO of them into the "Redeem Items" queue? Remember that CCP only sells 60-day time cards, and each PLEX is only 30 days...you may need two.

I reverse redeemed 6, don't see anything in account management. Might take a few minutes though.

I could be wrong but from how i read it, you can only use it to reactivate the account that it was reverse redeeded on, basically its a backup plex you have in the redemption system so you can reactivate that account if you forget or want to take a break, i don't think its meant so you can reverse redeem it then reactivate another account :) Rally Against Evil Site |

That is not what the Dev was suggesting, nor would that do anything to reduce the workload for GM's in relation to PLEX's.
It is probably a case like when the PLEX/Redeemable Items was first introduced: the in-game part was added with the major expansion patch. The website part was added weeks later, after they had wrapped up their post-deployment madness.

Having just received a response from a petition I thought I'd share it with you.
Apparantly there was an issue with the website that caused the feature to not work, so you can redeem and unredeem at will, but the other side of it isn't ready yet.

Hope they sort this out soon. I have an inactive char I would love to activate with a 30 day plex.
Still miss the days of the 30 day timecard. Sucks that they discontinued it to give us "more choice".

Same here mate. I have an inactive account and a PLEX on this account and I want to reactivate my inactive account.
CCP should consider this feature.

Petition asking for the account to be temporarily reactivated. They usually give you 24 hours so you can transfer/buy a plex on the account.
(Good use of necromancy btw ).

Hi,
As a returning player - took a year off! I too would like to know how I can reactivate my other accounts without having to dip my hand into my pockets...
Though in truth I doubt this will happen, I am sure it is a great revenue stream for CCP!

Anyway:
Reactivate the account with a Plex through Account Management
If you have an account that is disabled but you have a Plex that hasn't yet been redeemed, you can use it to reactivate the account.
1. Log into Account Management. 2. Choose to reactivate the account from the 'Common tasks' menu or by going to the 'Subscription details' section. 3. On the page where you choose the payment method an option will be given to redeem a Plex and reactivate your account.

Have no idea if it works however.
It only works if you reverse-redeemed your PLEX's BEFORE the account expired. You cannot use this method to get an ETC code to use on ANOTHER account.
So this is only a backup you can place on your account while it is active.

Even though this is an old thread reborn (and hey I like answering PLEX queries), here's a copy pasta of a reply I posted in a thread last week that pretty much covers what's been asked, and what's not quite been answered, in this thread:
If your account is expired and you have a PLEX in the Redeeming system (the window on the character selection that you open by clicking the giftbox icon) then you can go to account management, click reactivate and the PLEX you have in the redeeming system will show up as a payment option that you can use.
If you don't have the PLEX in the redeeming system, so it's just an item in your assets in game, then you would need to contact Customer Support who can put it into the Redeeming System for you to use like I explained above.
If your account expires before you can do any of that, then you can also contact Customer Support and at their discretion they can give you enough game time to log in (and if you have one on another account - time to exchange the PLEX between characters) and then use it to extend your game time.
Some FYI as well: You can right click on a PLEX in game and select the Apply 30 day pilots license to extend your game time before the account expires. If you use PLEX a lot for game time and don't always remember to apply it in game before your time runs out, it might be a good idea to keep one or two in the redeeming system to use when the account is expired (you can right click a PLEX in game and select the Return to Redeem Items to put it back into the redeeming system).

I think there is some confusion between the terms 'account' and 'char.' As far as I can read in the post above as well as the dev post originally linked, there is no mechanism for exchanging PLEX between accounts if one of the accounts is deactivated.
