Edited by: Hefos Calini on 03/12/2009 20:18:10 Having been off and on from EVE alot I have only now noticed that the old "pleasure hub" type Gallente station interior has been removed (for months now :P) For me it was one of the things that really made Gallente feel the flourishing techno democracy as it is described at character creation and older concept arts.
It has all been pretty much summed up on this old post aswell: http://www.eveonline.com/iNgameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1076427
On a side note I wish Gallente ships and gates would also be un-"caldarized". Way too many spikes, sharp edges and dark militaristic colors on them now.

That was a undeserved nerf to gallente stations.
However I have no ideia what its your point about the ships, they look 100% gallente to me. _
I like to play this game because it make my in-game actions and archievments to mean something in-game. |

For me the ships just are way too dark colored and textured in a "murky" hostile way. I remember them being much lighter before. Could just be because of my shader settings though...
The most "caldarization" I see in the gates. Normal Gallente jump gates used to be complitely smooth which went along well with the over all feminine Gallente style. Now they are full of sharp edges and spikes, the normal Caldari militaristic/aggressive architecture. Example image of the old Gallente gate below, I hope it shows right, first time posting an image and took a while to find an image of the old gate from internet :P

Agreed. Since the original post has been locked, I guess we can keep whining on this thread.
I do miss that old Gallente interior. It had character, and felt Gallente. CCP should bring it back at least in concept.
I have some idea what you are saying about the ships. Part of your issue is that there is more detail in the ships these days. We see natural shadows where before there were none. We also see much higher levels of detail where before we just saw turquoise baloons. I don't think that CCP are intentionally making Gallente ships look more Caldari. It seems to be simply a side effect of greater detail.
However, CCP should take it under advisement that there is a reason some people like the look and feel of Gallente ships, namely their "feminine attributes", shall we say. The more detail CCP adds to the ships, I agree they should take some care to keep the Gallente ships looking like hot babes. I'm not one of those fans of Gallente ships. Minmatar are the coolest and Amarrian fit my skillset. But if they come out with a flyable faction Gallente blow-up doll in the next expansion, I'll eagerly buy one. -JM

You got a point. Gallente is suppose to be a free and consumer based. The old one made me think of the gallente lifestyle. the new one... I'm not quite sure what to think.
